Off to walk in twenty minutes as it's ok but rain coming in the afternoon so will make the best of the morning's dry conditions.
The news is so depressing Pat. I tried to avoid it last night after seeing it online earlier. Watched the athletics instead which was quite uplifting, and badly needed.
Love the Rev Richard Dove. He always makes me laugh when I see or hear him
Hope you're not too sore today BM, after all your hacking and slashing. My shoulder's a bit painful after tackling the giant pallet - someone didn't want that falling apart !
Will catch you all later, unless it stays dry and I get out to cut the grass instead.
Have a good day everyone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning again After my last post I was just snuggling down again - it was just getting light - when I heard something that made me get out of bed and look out of the window.
Coming down the hill, past our window, across the road and up the other side was a very sturdy looking man in a white tee shirt, white knee length socks and a kilt! He held his arms out to each side for balance and staggered from side to side on stiff straight legs. He must've been very drunk indeed. Where he'd come from and where he was going too goodness only knows!
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I didn't check in earlier because I thought you'd all be lazing in your warmth. I must admit I could relate to the various comments about having to water all your plants. The best part of winter, in my opinion, is that I get a break from all of that. That's why I don't have very many pots. Let them get their moisture from the ground as they can.
I'm trying not to think about the daily news headlines. If it's not politics, it's murderers!
Morning all! I'm off to Penistone Fire Station to do fire engine rides at their open day today. It is so much more fun when "the office" gets to stretch it's legs and go outside.
I had what was once a close friend who suddenly stopped talking to me (we spoke every day), blocked me on social media, didn't respond to any messages asking if they were okay, just as suddenly start chatting away like nothing happened. I don't know whether to ask if they're suffering depression or something, to carry on as normal, or what. People are weird. You don't get this problem with dogs!
Looking forward to getting in the garden tonight. If it rains and cools down I shall tip the compost bins.
Meat pies moved from freezer to oven, so all I've got to do for dinner tonight is the veggies. Easy!
A bit cool outside - apparently they had another snow fall at the ski slopes. I wish the wind would come from another direction - the coast instead of the mountains would be a good start, or even better, from Queensland.
Thanks for the well wishes for yesterday. A very long day indeed! a clear drive to Brighton thankfully arrived about 11.30 am. Visited step wombles new flat and she proudly showed us everything they had done with the place, its their first home they have bought together and she has paid attention during my decorating master classes through the years and it looks really stylish! Amazing views, beautiful big windows, really chuffed for them!
Her cousin was graduating at the same time in the same uni, so a big family convoy went down, SIL, MIL, BIL other Gran and step womb leads mother.
Sanjeeve Bhaskar, the comedian was the chancellor and really was amusing! Lots of pictures taken then a drink at a bar nearby then off to a nice little French restaurant for a lovely dinner, stepwomble for coffee then the long drive home, thankfully another clear run!
Shattered now, will read back withcoffee later.
No rain here for yonks either! Could really do with some as I don't have an outside tap or working waterbutt so have to dangle the shower hose from the bathroom window and fill the watering can!
If you folks do send your rain to me, could I please request an arrival time of 9pm?
Going to continue on my replanning of untidy bit in garden, have a wonderful Saturday everyone!
Clari, maybe your friend did have depression, if it was, she might have wanted to 'keep it to herself' perhaps reply with a 'good to see you' and see how it goes. Hope all goes well. x
Hope you're feeling better now Clari, did you sort your boss out re your wages. You had that trouble last year didn't you? Hope you get it sorted.
