Just came across this article on t'internet, and it summed up "what gardening means" so beautifully (particularly with all the horrors of the current year) that I thought I would share.
Hello , I like Magnums but of red wine , got a nice one of Black stump in garage for Christmas
Been to a couple of garden centres this afternoon , the second one got stuff in Trolley and the power went , in fact whole village went down couldn't buy the goods as the till wouldn't even open
Couldn't get a cup of tea , the Manager apologies , last time it happened it was off from 3 to 8 , so had to leave stuff , trouble is , it is quite a drive away , such is life !

Just had a nice walk round the garden/ lake. Don't do it often enough.
Bit of lunch then off to plant more stuff.
What's the point in having a lake if you don't walk round it? Silly Hosta.
I ride round it when cutting the grass, but nice to take time and have a proper look at it.
All the leftover dregs of water lillies which I lobbed into it are in flower.
Thanks Chicky.
Love that article, but hen, I suppose I am a fan, of both the man, and his writing.
