Really worried about the situation in Turkey. We have many Turkish friends as we have been visiting Turkey since the 1980's. We've just spoken to one of them and he says military jets are flying overhead and they are very worried about the situation.
11 am here, and I'm watching ABC 24 hr tv news. Istanbul is the focus and some elements of the military have taken over and closed the bridges over the Boshphorus. The PM says it's not a coup but was not authorised. Journalists phones confiscated. Curfew. Reports of Police trying to shoot at low flying jets. Looks very confusing.
On my home side, it's cold, there was a heavy frost but it is cloudless and bright. Sun!!!
Morning all to come/afties Pat. Hope the sun stays out for you
The coup attempt seems to have been short lived. What 's next?
Hope your friends are all ok Yvie.
Glad I'm off to Glen Lyon soon...the worst that can happen is rain. Oh... if only that was the only thing for anyone to worry about....
It's a hidden gem indeed Joyce. A beautiful place full of peace and calm and wildlife. It'll be chilly today, but hopefully the cloud will be high enough to allow views.
Have a good day everyone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning Fairy. Yes, still sunny at 4.10pm. I think the days are getting longer at last.
Ive been very lazy today, colouring in one of my books and making a beef stew - a bit for me tonight (while Hubby goes to the birthday party I bowed out of) and the rest of the stew will be used to make meat pies tomorrow by Hubby, the pastry cook in this family.

Trouble in Turkey now with some of the military attempting to take control. . . . we'll see what happens overnight
Hope weather is fine for Glen Lyon tomorrow Fairy
. I feel that area is a hidden gem
With my golfing relatives staying, it was golf on TV most of the evening. At least it will be dry for them at the Open tomorrow.

Just waking up. I must check the TV news to see what is happening in Turkey.
The awful news is just relentless at the moment.

Good morning all
Things seem calmer in Turkey - I'm not keen on some of Erdogans actions, but he was democratically elected - it's a complex situation ...
its a beautiful morning here - blue skies and sunshine - it's a gardening day
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Meant to say, enjoy your walk Fairy - pics please

Hopefully Dove - though it's to be cloudy. Not a very exciting hill today but the views should be good if the cloud stays high enough
Enjoy your gardening - send us some of your sun please...
Has anyone seen Wintersong? I haven't seen her posting for ages. Miss her lovely garden
Can't decide who to listen to in the car today. Perhaps a bit of the old growler himself...#Heeyyy Mr Tambourine man.....
