What started off as " a wee smir" has now turned into good old fashioned rain.

    Polytunnel duties to-day.

Mercifully the death toll in Nice is no higher than at breakfast..

I'm sitting here agreeing with so much of what's been said. Religion is used to justify terror, when it's  an excuse.

    Perspective is exactly right too.

At work today, we were discussing some of these brilliant programmes, like the Brian Cox one just now, and how people in remote areas tackle raging rivers and sheer cliffs to harvest food etc. I said 'I know, and only the other day I was frustrated at not being able to find small green bananas'....

We really don't know how lucky we are.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I'm feeling a bit less angry now than I was earlier. On Foxtel Arts, I stumbled on a wonderful concert by Bryan Ferry. Just what I needed to calm me down. Lovely memories brought back with his songs even though he looks much older (like all of us, I suppose). Have to keep positive. image

Evening all,  Terrible news again.  Awful atrocities  are carried out in the name of nationalism and religion.  I tend to take individuals as I find them and stay from both.  I don't think mankind will ever learn.

Nanna duty today so no gardening for me.  I will be looking after Merri and Mabel again tomorrow and Jonah on Sunday.  What a cuddlefest.

I'm going to switch off the news and look at plant porn tonight.

On a slightly more uplifting note - is anyone watching the Proms?

They started by playing The Marseillaise....

Deeply moving, yet stirring. Is there a better National Anthem? Not in my book. That bit in Casablanca always moves me to tears....

I think you're right Yvie. Most of the cr*p that happens is caused by humans  image

Watching the Proms here Fairy. That playing of la Marseillaise was so moving, and the Elgar was magnificent image

Very wet here but it was also strangely warm. The garden looked nice with all the rain - very lush image

Should really get to my pit now - off to Glen Lyon tomorrow. Supposed to be reasonably dry so will hopefully get some nice pix.
