Morning all - it IS still morning isn't it?/ afties Pat
I seem to have slept for Britain last night, although a large part of it was on the settee. Old habits die hard. New bed is doing wonders for me...
There's been more rain here, but the forecast is reasonable so I may get some grass cutting done too. Hopefully, unlike BL's OH, before dusk! Should have done it yesterday evening, as it dried up, but the tennis got in the way . That may still happen today ...
I also have a cake to make, as it's oldest fairylet's birthday tomorrow, so will need to go for eggs etc. Big sigh. Doesn't seem a year since she was 21. # Time goes, where does the time go? Missing my 'car time/music listening' since I'm not walking so I may burst into song frequently....I'll apologise in advance
I'll have a look round before I do something more productive than doodling here
Have a good day everyone
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Good morning all nice day , so finish off hedges this morning then weeding at allotment in afternoon , any body watch Germany v Italy last night , great game
Going to watch Iceland v France tonight , routing for Iceland
Chicky , enjoy Hampton Court , never been , o/h has and preferred it to Chelsea , will watch it on TV
Mother's coming!!! I can hear her tramping down the motorway as I type. She has a very heavy right foot for an auld doll!
This is good news. I garden...she cook. Everybody happy. Then we'll squabble. I am my father in every way. She....well we're not sure but we think she might be from another planet! Anyway it'll be interesting times!
It hasn't rained here for over an hour and I'm becoming concerned about drought! Last night at bedtime I took the dogs round the grounds and at one point in the "lawn" there was a dip where the water was over my ankle. That can't be right. I mow little lilac things and when I look them up it turns out they are pond marginals.
Read a really nice quote by Susan Hampshire this morning.
If you’re always thinking of the good things then the bad things seem less difficult.
Same here - nice day promised, black clouds and drizzle materialised. So we are going shopping instead
Thanks GWRS - HC and Chelsea are very different - I enjoy them both. At Chelsea the show gardens and design take centre stage - and it is very crowded and quite cramped - Mr C would hate it. HC is far more spacious and relaxed - just a nice day out with lots of plants and gardens thrown in for good measure. Mr C is quite happy to come along - in fact he is quite a fan .... there are lots of veg gardens and gadgets to keep him interested
Good morning all Definitely got the hang of sleeping in now ... in fact, may be overdoing it
Just clearing up kitchen now and labelling jam. OH has got the mower out - we had bright sunshine earlier but it's clouding over a bit ... I think there may be some rain later so deadheading must be done shortly, as soon as the coffee has been drunk and the supper vegetables prepped ..........
I've not read back properly yet so ((hugs)) for all - just help yourself as needed ...
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Dear knows Joyce! But she gets lost all the time so I'm imagining it's prayers at the moment!!
That "old timer's disease" is no joke Joyce. My dad started to lose his marlies (his words) and it was horrendous. I never thought I'd say it but thank the Lord the cancer took him before it became unbearable for him. He knew it was happening because his was almost entirely vascular dementia so "the cloud" didn't come over him. My mum didn't get a night's sleep for months until he went into hospital for his cancer treatment. We had no idea how bad it was because she just got on with it as best she could and she's no Spring chicken so it was hard on her. She was dealing with her own cancer treatment at the time so we had a great Summer!!! We were in bits! Four years ago this month so we're blattering on as they say!

Going to Hampton Court on Tuesday, and so far the forecast is looking good

Happy Gardening Everyone.
Nice quote pp. A good one for DD - -think I said something similar to her the other day. It's not a bad motto for life in general
Enjoy your mum's visit. Sounds interesting!
What ARE the 'pond plants' growing in the grass?
I thought it was going to be better here today but it's raining again. Won't feel too guilty cake making or tennis watching then

Morning all
no early morning "me" time today
bl...y Altzheimers
so thanks for the quote pp. . . . motto for today.
Looks like tennis will win over gardening unless the weather changes to the dry that was forecast BUT that's no hardship.
Wonder what your mother's muttering to herself pp?

Onwards and upwards.
The sun has appeared pp
and OH is watching tennis. I can cope fairly well as long as I have my couple of hours to myself first thing.
Enjoy having meals made and more time among the brambles
