The Cornish, who voted overwhelmingly for BREXIT, and who were the beneficiaries of massive EU grants, due to their comparative poverty, have asked the government to guarantee the same level of funding will be continued.

In the words of a leader I loathed: NO, NO, NO.

Did people really understand what they were voting for?

    NO, NO, NO.

A divided Europe, the end to the UK,  I wish I had stayed in Botswana, where they are busy building a union with their African neighbours.

Agree punkdoc, it's a mess.  I'm not going to voice my opinions on here because those that have seem to have been shot down in flames and I'm not feeling strong enough to cope with that at the moment. Hope you had a lovely trip.

The UK gets a lot back.

    Scotland - population 5.3 million - €941million allocated for projects from 2014 to 2000

    Wales – population 3million and a bit - €4billion since 2000

Northern Ireland – population 1.8 million - €675million (includes peace project funding)

    Cornwall – 500,000 - €650million between 2007 and 2013

Yorkshire and Humber – €650million plus a further €750million allocated for science projects - http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/yorkshire-a-hotbed-of-science-as-eu-funding-set-to-double-1-7640338

Do the sums and ask yourself if the English in the south east who contribute most to the central coffers will be happy to carry on paying at this level.

One of which is that haven of democracy - Zimbabwe!  I realise they don't have any opposition politicians there, at least they don't last very long, but I wonder how they would be treated if they tried criticising the Zimbabwean leader.

Pound has fallen to its lowest level against the dollar, for 31 years. That will affect everyone.

BBC reporting hate crime on the rise, since referendum.

I see this site is not immune.

I have to say the media once again is stiring the s**t, egar to report hate crimes and being incredibly biased. Funnily I had an Iraqi shout across the street to me on Thursday that he was voting out, many polish people at work also voted out. Claimed this country was at breaking point, that it wasn't the EU in its current state they were concerned about but the fact it is ever expanding. The lack of accountability also seems to be a major concern. I personally believe that the punished poor of this country who weren't worried about their holiday homes abroad, stood up and said enough of being ignored. Many of those people will never be able to afford a first home let alone a second, or a holiday for that matter.

Either way the result should be accepted, got over and onwards!

A bit troubled by a news item on the BBC about the EU meeting taking place about our decision to leave   Seems that on the surface they are willing to enter in to favourable talks but want to send a warning to other nations who might want to leave because they do not agree with the direction the EU is taking. Sounds like a bit of a dictatorship to me

Westminster seems to have gone into absolute meltdown, I'm gawping at all the chaos with my mouth open. Who thought politicians could be so entertaining.
