Gardengirl, hello , you have to cook the chick peas , going home tomorrow , interesting to see the g/h and allotment have faired ? Weather turned as well

Rosemummy , I would just leave the rasberrys and see when you get fruit , you could tie coloured string on the summer fruiting one as the pruning is different for summer / autum plants but still easy , you could start digging up any suckers now

Good news Rosemummy,  can you take a photo so we can see what your plot is like.  Then can advise re  fruit trees. Going up to mine tonight,  we have had rain so hopefully soil will be soft  enough to dig and plant some brassicas. Got some peas to put in too. ?

Thanks GWRS all info helps - managed to sell some chick pea plants at the fayre

Rosemummy think pictures help sounds like some good plans, yeah you have an allotment plot

As was spitting went got a few bits today from inexcess some bags of compost for veg beds when I get help putting them together - have now painted them one puple lavender colour and the other one blue for garden

Then went near homebase thought we would have a look see if they had any turf like and if reduced to help with the path between plots - like a drive past - and they did have turf  at £1 a roll bargain instead of £4 a roll got 10 so that will keep me busy with lots of digging and levelling off the path, so have layed out the turf on the plot to get the rain and green up a bit

Going to see if I can buy a battery strimmer to help plot as still waiting on part for petrol strimmer from Germany (Lidl)   and it would be nice to have a light weight one for little areas

That will be good rosemummy - have you told them you want the plot?

Been to the allotment today lots of digging found a massive bolder in the path under the grass just about lift it and a massive metal pole other than lots of weeds will have to go to the tip soon garden bags filling up may burn some of the weeds and rubbish bits

My plot must have the most amount of broken glass on seem to find it every where and have been filling up bags worth of it must of filled a full 75 ltr compost bag by now - first lot I took to the tip was a horse feed bag with a good half a bag worth

Did managed to get one more board in up the side of path

Gg, Garden News recently rated Gtech ST20 Cordless trimmer as best lightweight.

Scroggin, sweetpea are looking good, mine have a long way to go before flowering.

We've had a couple of days of welcomed rain.

Sweetcorn and mini pop have germinated in GH. Both GH's are on the plot.

Went to the allotment today did some more digging put a board in edge of plot and laid a turf down is getting rained in now, when digging I found a lot of rubbish and a large pile of glass that will have to be removed all in bit

Scroggin brilliant sweet peas when did you sow them - mine are only about 10cm high so miles off yours

Thanks Zoomer - went to B&Q yesterday as I spotted a strimmer online checked it out and looked at others, decided on the one I like and got it a Mac Allister one pretty light weight and 1hour quick charge so will try it out sometime not too far off as weeds are pretty high
