Scroggin, trust me...it goes from one extreme to another in the NW. Floods last Winter and no doubt if we get continued sunny weather there'll be calls for a hose pipe ban in the summer......we another sunny day......hope the weather picks up enough for you to plant out..
I've been sowing large seeds on kitchen roll to give them a quick start and to check germination of old seeds. Butternut squash, courgettes, dwarf beans and runner beans have all germinated since the weekend and are ready to pot up.
This 'Q' may have been asked before but which part of the country are you, scroggin?
Another sunny day here in the NW. Went to the plot this morning to water and did some weeding. There's a nettle patch which is looking very lush so will be cutting them back soon to make a nettle brew.
Other plot holders must come in the afternoon or during the week! There was only one other car parked? It's been getting to hot for me though, so was packing up at 11.30.
Been to the allotment yestersday and today done more soil shifling removing lots of bits of glass, lot of trimming of grass/ weeds lowering them down, some of my parsnips seeds are up not many,
Super heat wave today, have a white iris out in flower in the planter
Grass now cut in garden, having a few problems with slugs and snails climbing in my plastic grow houses they have eaten some of my cucamelons only have few left now - so wanted loads to try
Zoomer44 only one other car at the allotments maybe some walked in or they were all busy - there was a few at the allotment yesterday and a few more cars today some do turn up late just to water their plots
On a plot near by there has been some weed removal not seen anyone there on weekend
Zoomer44, I'm also astonished at how few people there are on our site even when the weather is nice. Which it is, finally! And I've got two weeks off, so I'm spending at least this one gardening.
GWRS was 32 degrees on Sunday at allotment super hot trying to sort the soil, enjoy your jollies
Still really muggy lovley and sunny, went to allotment yesterday done some weeding and planting of french beans and lots of watering
Measured out for a hose pipe and will need a lengh of 80 metres should then cover my plot - not yet getting it till get some sort of shed think I will make a shed/ storage unit on side of shed for hose pipe and wheelbarrow
Today been helping with volunteering station new garden project got a skip and we filled it within a few hours
Need to go to the tip from allotment lots of glass bits and garden waste
Going to a garden show Stansted near Chichester tomorrow so should be some nice bits to look at
Enjoy the weather everyone, wherever you are. I'm so glad I didn't take my holiday last week instead of this one as I'd originally planned - sometimes there are advantages to being disorganised!
I've cleaned and disinfected the GH and painted shading on, planted an enormous amount of plants, scattered tons of slug pellets, netted the strawberries, dug and weeded, moved turf, sowed more seeds, watered,... I'm tired! But it's great to be able to be outside in this weather. It'll be tough to go back to the office.

Good to hear the weather has picked up down south.
Went to the plot after tea, did a few jobs, then picked some flowers and rubarb.
