Hi went to the allotment Friday and today, finally finished the turf path on Friday very late left allotment site about 9.10 pm was a long day up plot just so good to get the path done just want all the turf to root and grow nice and green

Plot today other than trying to help a chinese man fit and sort a hose to the real hoselock one never had one of those with springs,   Bit of digging off plot at the bottom area trying to sort out the other path and strimming plot

Zoomer44 me not running out of room to plant out still got most of everything to plant not got there yet

Put a new path in garden with the free paving slabs I had a while ago, inbetween raised beds, nearly there in garden with the raised bed veg bed area re doing it

got stuck in for the 1st time yesterday as just got keys hurrah! chopped down lots of weeds so we can see the bones underneath, got a very full compost bin and laid down black pplastic though it needs securing more firmly, still , I feel we're off to a much better start image

That is brilliant great you got a better plot, is it a half plot?

Yes, but the plot that's split into two isn't equal halves, ours is quite a bit bigger, but as it has a strong framework , trees, raspberresi, some wooden beds (under all the weeds!) I feel loads more confident, also it's really near the society hut and close to the road so I'm happier there on my own and the kids don't have to walk a third of a mile down a public narrow nettley path with dog poo everywhere!

rosemummy you should wet the ground thoroughly, then put wet newspaper on the wet ground under the plastic, it decomposes quickly, and you will get lots of earthworms, did it myself, worked a treat.

oh thanks mary, haven't heard of doing that, there is a tiny pond ( ex washing up bowl!) seen a frog already,it's certainly wet at the moment, torrential rain all day yesterday and forecast today image doing nothing for my mood or my roses which were looking the best they've evr looked, now they look like they've been through the carwash image think I will have to find a spot for a cut flower bed next year...
