The weathers been alot kinder here. Been away for a few days but plan to go to the plot later to water.

There are some spud varieties resistant to blight, I'm trying Sarpo Mira as a main, for the first time. Orla is supposed to e a blight resistant, 1st early.

Do spuds split for the same reason toms split, they are from the same family?

Both been up to plot this afternoon , picked another 4 punts of strawberrys , beetroot , o/h dug up some onions for drying

As ever lots of weeding , also sprayed horsetail with weed killer that allotment ass buys , seems to be working

nearly got things back under control following holidays

tomatoes in g/h hopeless and cucumbers very small , the way it goes

If you get hold of Kings caterlogue there potatoe section is very good in breaking down what the different varieties are blight resistant

Hope you are all keeping wellimage

ps. Just having a beer in back garden

Just got back. Don't think there's ll  be much fruit or veg making it  to show. There isn't one straight rubarb stick, the one cue resembles a letter 'c'...image...  toms not even near going red..,.could go on...

Stuff is either ready now or so small, a miracle growth spurt is needed....image... there's always next year ...image ...showing is clearly harder than it seems...image

    Happy growing everyoneimage

At last a sunny, warm day. I planted out all 16 dahlias that had been growing in pots in the GH. Harvested one small strawberry and one small broad bean pod, the rest of the beans had been eaten by wildlife. Had two Sungold tomatoes yesterday, though, they were delicious. (Something ate the one Gardener's Delight tomato that had started turning red. I'm fed up with running a fast food joint for the local fauna!) One sunflower is in bloom - I seem to be much more successful with flowers than with vegetables.

Hello all went to the allotment yesterday cut the grass paths with the push mower and did a bit of digging till got rained off was bad heavy rain a lot later on

still lots to get planted out yet - harvested some cabbage

Got stung by nettles today even through the gloves and a red ant bit my wrist really digging in painful

Not sure about potatoes my apples split - irregular watering  http://www.crocus.co.uk/pestsanddiseases/_/pests-and-diseases/stems/irregular-watering/articleid.1159/

Went and got the strimmer from lidl they had a few there which was good got some petrol too, just need oil.  It is quite a heavy strimmer and multi tool just hope I will be able to use it - never used a strimmer before

Done some more digging today found a big metal bar under the soil half a spade down got some out now a square metal like post thing to dig out or cut - found two of them in different places

One person on site not far from mine has been chucked off site due to threating violence to a neighbour not sure what is happening only heard this the other day

Gardebngirl you do seem to keep digging up rubbish

Best of luck with strimmer , I have a battery one which suits us , use it mainly are edge of plot and at home on bank

    all the best everybody image

Ps. Potatoes splitting ,  did some research and differently done to irratic watering , which would be right as we get a couple of nice days couple of cloudy days , then it throws the rain down
