Hi all, been very busy with garden at home and plot, have entered parish garden competition and allotment association comp too, not sure how well I will do , but worth a try!image

I work next door to florist warehouse so got loads of plants cheap to brighten up the garden!

Made 20 jars of jam, so much soft fruit this year, cant eat it all!!still got heaps left so wont need to buy any this summer.

new raised beds have been great, for carrots especially. Put broad beans in them too and had a good crop. Hope all is well, happy gardening!image

Ginagibbs  what do you get with your allotment comp other than winning?  how much was it to enter?  great with the plants nice to add some colour and you did not have to go far

Wow 20 jars of jam that is loads, are they all stawberry?

I want to go get some more plants ran out for my baskets

Went to the plot and all of my plants still there, gave them a good watering in yesterday, today this morning helping in the Woolston garden project harvested the peas loads so all got some and also sowed some more peas where the spinach was as bolted

Allotment in afternoon so did some gardening in the rain, brambles needed cutting back as they had grown over the path to my plot, even though raining quite a bit when removed the well over grown poppy the soil was dry a small bit down so rain not done much by then needs lots to water plot well

still watering turf in the garden a bird had pulled bits up so had to put them back in

GWRS exciting I have some flowers on chick peas and even a bean pod

Hey all,    found out where to fix my strimmer by looking up places near by one said yes so took it to a garden machinery and parts shop and they got me a new yellow tube and attached the bit with the weight back on and into the petrol tank all for £2.22  so just got to get new petrol so fingers crossed it is fix imageimageimage    - no thanks to lidl for help with repaires took more than an month back an forth on phone and email, they in the end said to do it myself but took a long time, as that was so much easier to go get it done for me

that should get rid of the tougher weeds

Popped up to plot yesterday with visitors as they wanted to see what we had done , fortunately only light rain , some damaged from very heavy rains on Wednesday , infact , some farmers crops have been flattened

Visitors went today , so hoping to get to plot soon

Gooseberrys are looking and tasting good , the red ones in particularly

Still loads of strawberries and rasberry to pick , if the birds have not got them

Gardengirl , hope chick peas come good , still nothing showing on ginger

Hope alls well with everybody image

GWRS no sign of ginger here, where do you have it?

Well I got to test out the strimmer on Friday and it goes image so managed to get some of the weeds down, Left some of the nettles as they had loads of black caterpillars on, so different using that again after using the battery strimmer, more vibrations in fingers (gone now) and more heavy and powerful to cut most of the thick weeds

Lots of digging done and some planting of flowers

Watching Gardeners World on tv this week the garden that had clematis grower in that said Salisbury it was in Hale New Forest and we went around that garden, That had the nice cabin in the garden

Hope you had a nice holiday scroggin, I find weeds seem to grow faster when you're away.

Spent the day at York Races yesterday, won in the first three races, then lost it all in the last three.

Got my exhibitor pass today, OMG moment when I realised  looks like everything is ready this weekend, it will all be either over ripe or eaten by the birds in two weeks time.LOL.

I might just be entering a banana loaf and lemon drizzle cake?

Scroggin welcome back from holiday - tiss a nice cabin had a shower/ loo, electric and they put some seats in there

Zoomer wondered how you get into those shows as the one you going to has more things on, good to have cakeimage lots of trial cake to get right yummy, got the booklet for the show I try at - still trying for asters will see if any ready by then

Been to the tip twice today to get rid mainly lots of garden waste or allotment waste really and lots of rubbish too all the bits of glass metal, make plot look bit neater - now more weeds and seeded already to get rid of so may have to do another trip

Went to the allotment later when less hot dug over areas and planted out cucumbers, courgettes and pumpkins - (thanks Zoomer I have 1 from the 2 sown as slug got the other) I will see how it goes it is in a massive 1tonne bag of horse manure
