Sounds like the Lost Gardens of Heligan! Congratulations, rosemummy, you'll no doubt have a wonderful time!
Gardengirl, I remember that the first time I used a strimmer my arms hurt even the day after, but by the third time or so it was quite easy. Just make sure that it's extended so that you don't need to bend down, because that's the quickest way I know of to hurt one's back...
Rosemummy , sounds like you have made a real good start , remember a section at a time and plan what you want achieve , that way you will always feel positive
Blackcurrant and grapevine a good find are you keeping them ?
Shame about shed
Hoping to get to plot Friday afternoon , need to dig 3 beds that had garlic & onins in and dig some more potatoes up
thanks yes we're keeping them, no idea yet how to go about training and looking after the grapevine., it even has the tiniest bunch of embryonic grapes!hubby had to do all strimming while i told himwhat not to chop, I did a lot of hand chopping but myhands and wrists aren't great, can't even lift the strimmer we borrowed, luckily the one we've got is very light and replacement blades are on their way
Must go to the plot this weekend. I've been to water GH every other day , I''ve come to far now to miss watering.
Weeds seem to have slowed down after summer equinox so the plan is to weed under veg and fruit which is now growing vigorously. I sowed some rows of radish which have now germinated. Was going to try sowing chard and Pak Choi direct.
Hello Zoomer44 what is in your GH? good to keep things watered
Aster2 think weeds still growing on my plot
Went to the allotment yesterday and done strimming - weeds now shorter on my plot got the strimmer to work mark 2 as had to take first on back did not work and bit got broken - at least number 2 strimmer works had to pull on cord to make start bit hard but not too bad
Need to use the brush cutter on bramble at bottom of plot as too thick and tough will do sometime not to fussed at min
Arms in pain and bit of right sholder - sure it felt like it was getting heavier to use as I went on so bits of putting on floor to rub hands together and bouts of resting right arm the engine sure shakes made my two trigger fingers really hurt - done a small bit of cutting in car park just so don't have to trek though the grass/weeds to get into the car
We took the garden hose 50m to allotment much better to use just so I could give plants a good soaking
Planted out courgette, cucumbers, water melons - up wire mesh and sweetcorn plants
Got great lot of wildlife on my plot found some slow worms moved one out the way a frog lots of butterflies, moths and the ones trying to eat my plants slugs and snails
Gardengirl reading your comments about wildlife , last week saw a snake by the free shredding material in car park and looked it up when got home and it was an Adder
The only other snake I have seen in the wild was on the Pembrokeshire coastal path
GWRS that is not good must of been warm there, you saying about looking it up I have spotted two different hairy ish caterpillars but could not id them shame would of like to know what they were if moths or butterflies
Hello , good afternoon at plot , just having a beer to recover
Loads of strawberrys , thought they where finished , so pleasantly surprised
New rasberry , lots picked o/h to make jam with them
Picked some broad beans , coming to the end hope there is enough for village show , a week next Saturday , not much to put in this year , the way it goes
Gg, just got usual stuff in GH. Toms, cues, Aubergine's, peppers and chillies.
Also hyacinth beans, they aren't looking good though with pale leaves and not very big at all. I'm pleased with the chillies, Apache are doing well and some which are going purple, can't remember the variety but think it begins with j.....
Do you show every year GWRS, would welcome any tips...

Happy growing everyone.
The weeds on my plot don't seem to have slowed down!
But the fruit and veg plants have perked up after a few sunny days too.
