Zoomer44 that is good  - Same date to enter plot, First prize a trophy and £30, 2nd - £10 and 3rd a £5  - Paid £2 to entre and next year they may add a best improved plot something,  so will see if points go up image hope so   -  wont find out till show in August but you get to see where all plots come out on list with points   -  I may enter show if I have anything may be flowers

So will get plot best I can for now lots of graft as still trying to get bark pile off plot for small bit off plot path, bit more weed and bramble clearing there before weed matting and bark - then space on plot to plant  - The judge will go around anywhen in July don't get date just have to keep ok

The criteria the judge will be using are:
    1. Overall condition of plot
    2. Quality of the crop
    3. Variety of crops
    4. Variety of flowers
    5. Originality of layout
    6. Visual aspect, taking consideration of colour and character
    7. Quality of gardening
    8. Condition of structures

Think my plot is still a long way to go, was not sure if I wanted to enter now - did in Winter time thinking I would have done more (Just that plot not so easy to dig and clear) and looking at the ones near the top of list last show pretty good plots, it was finding out that some one was entering with just black plastic and tarpaulin on their plot - to improve on it big time by next comp - that helped

Gg  Think I'll suggest an allotment comp' to our association.

I've tried to go to the plot in the evening, mainly to water but doing some weeding, hoeing and planting keeps mother nature at bay. A lot of other plot holder seem to be doing the same thing.

Chillies and peppers are doing well, toms aren't the best I've grown, think they got to leggy before planting out.

Went to plot today. Planted out squash, courgettes, cues and pumpkin. Potted up chillies and peppers.

I'm filling in the application for Great Eccleston Show.

Showing veg is stressful, isn't it difficult to decide what will be ready in three weeks and how do you know if there are nine peas in a pod?

If entry fees exceed £7 then you get a free pass for the ground, so need 14 entries...?...

Zoomer44 with peas hold the pod up to the light you can see how many peas in there and if they are missing any - you will have to re cap and watch the allotment challenge that helped me with the showing bit gave me hints and tips

Is tough knowing what will be ready,it will just be on how well the plants are growing  - do you have to set up on the day early?

because if growing flowers you can cut the night before and buy some of the green foam flower block and fully soak helps the flowers stay non floppy for the long day and to make flowers stand in the right place -  peas and beans best picked on the day if you can the fresher the better, sometimes they break beans to see if the snap well

Think I will try flowers if I have any near the time of my show

Liked the garden on tonights show

Thanks Gg, tips ever so helpful

You can set up night before and on the day, from 7am.
