Aster , probably a good idea not to visit on a Bank Holiday weekend , even when at work , use to stay at home , much nicer to have a look around when not so busy
Forgot to say , also put some butting and flags up , as we will be away for Queens birthday celebrations , some thing different
Went with local garden club to see a firm called Thornes nr. Wragby that make Beehives and bee keeping equipment , surprisingly it turned out to be a really interesting evening out
Scroggin looks like it will be wet here tomorrow, my fruit are coming along nicely too
Talk was good picked up a few tips and saw lots of nice pictures of the allotment site
Went to the allotment plot on Saturday to the shop to see if they would sell me half a straw bale but no cause would make to much mess for them - did not want a full bale they are huge just wanted to put under strawberry plants
Managed to go and get some straw from a pet shop near Hilliers they have a nice lot of birds outside also some chickens with fluffy heads and two peacocks - at least found some little bagged up straw so have some for gardwen too, de weeded and watered strawberry plants then put straw around
Also watered the plot on Sat and Sun
Aster2 Where abouts is Crocus?
Zoomer them pea weevil they getting my sweet peas now, have you tried the strimmer again to see if it starts - only thing I have harvested is some lettuce
Checked out sites to get the trimmer repaired/serviced, there looks to be one locally......as a remedial measure I covered an area at the top of the plot with black plastic and when I got to the plot today someone had trimmed the grass paths on the plot......I feel some seeds and chocs winging their way...
I gave a lot of seedlings away before my jollies as there was no time to plant them all out and when one guy, today, returned the seed trays he gave me three pumpkin seedlings- Chinese Lantern, not sure how big they grow but one's been planted to grow under fruit bushes and the other two, to follow on from autumn planted onions which are ready to start harvesting.
We've had sun all weekend here in Lancashire. It's forecast rain tomorrow which is good news, I'm back at work and the plot will get a good water.
Weather... sigh! It was cold and dark yesterday and the whole day the weather forecasters on R4 kept saying that the SE is having fine, dry weather! Dry it was, but my definition of fine seems to be somewhat different from theirs.
I spent the whole day repotting plants indoors. I'd have planted out peas, but with the torrential rain forecast for today I decided to keep them under cover for now.

Very true. I'm thinking of going to the Crocus Open Day next Saturday and then I might stop at Wisley as well, it's not too far from there.

No more allotment for a couple of weeks as of on holiday from Thursday , no doubt it will need weeding when we get back
I trust alls well with everybody
We didn't get forecast rain, it's been warm and sunny here in the NW, needed to water GH each day.
