Hi all, been enjoying roasted Jerusalem Artichokes this winter, I have been roasting them along side jacket potatoes with olive oil and salt  Parsnips are a great success too this and still have some celeraic to dig up. Onions and garlic doing well.

got loads of horse muck on the beds and nearly all weed free, so not too much to do. I might spend some time making my grass paths straight. All the bark paths are now re done as we had a delivery of bark chippings a few weeks agoimage

Just had my invoice for the plot, I pay £10 a year for the shed rent, do you think I should pay to re felt the roof or is this a job for the council? not sure, any ideas?image

GWRS heater sounds good, enjoy finding bits in Wilkinsons, good tip for cabbages

Scroggin - your shed sounding good,  I guess that as the allotment shop sells enviromesh they did not want to stock it shame - if I need it will get my own

With the roofing felt it is a shame not to sell as so many plots could do with re-roofing but think someone on committee had an issue with thinking there will be bits they cant sell, me think not really if sold by metre then so many grades you can get    Homebase seem to do it for £15 for 8metres

Ginagibbs I would check with the council about the roof as you pay rent for the shed, your plot is sounding amazing

Me well went to the allotment plot done a lot of sanding of long pallet planks for inside of shed some wood has got damp so moved some to rest of pallet pile and got some potatoes harvested,  ground was frosted in some areas - nice sunny and peaceful at plot other than me sanding using drill multi tool

Ginagibbs , I would look at your lease , it should say if you or council are responsible for keepng the shed in good order

The shed I inherited on other half of plot , I patched the roof up then painted on some water proof stuff I got from B & Q and it worked !

Dinner tonight includes sprout tops with bacon , leeks & parsnips from plot

Hope you are all keeping well image

GWRS you are way ahead of me, hadn't even thought about spuds this year.

Hoping to go to the plot this weekend if weather is dry. I'm collecting a cat in the morning from animal care, he's called Ozzy, there's a pic of him on their website..
