  • That is lucky about the keysimage

My allotment has a snap shut padlock, I keep meaning to get another key cut in case one day I lock them in...

    Wearside, England.
  • Good idea to get a plot neighbours phone number just in case keys get lost on site and you get locked in!! Luckily our bin collection is every 2 weeks so bins were empty!

Polytunne is a 2 x 3 metre, not really big enough but its all  I can fit in, I;ve installed it under some llelandi  trees where nothing grows.

Just been round the trading estate where I work and found a pile of pallet collars to make some more raised beds, v.chuffed!image

    Have a good weekend all

  • I started seed sowing sweetpeas yesterdayimage

Today looked in shop no runner bean seeds yet - went to plot look - looked around plot covered bits up as plastic blown by windy weather, measured compost bins to get pallet slats for front area

Did a good bit of tidying up rubbish from a corner by the road of the allotment site probably rubbish chucked over from houses and found a good metal builders rook/ hook which will be good to put the hose on to leave running for a while - then off to tip rubbish gone and then a pallet hunt no small pallets there for compost bins but did find a long pallet took apart and de nailed (hailed on us did get cold) so will use for the shed inside as needed more planks to go up

I made a nice celeriac cake - recipe from Garden news mag tasted good will bake againimage

Ginagibbs which I could find pallet collars - what place were they near? poly tunnel good size

Hi everyone, not posted for a while, been busy decorating, the weathers been either to cold or wet to go to the plot. It started snowing whilst I was there today.

Just been catching up with everyone's posts. Glad you found yours key's Ginagibbs. I lost my mobile phone and remembered last time I used it was on the plot, found it under a table, luckily it had not been covered by snow, was surprised it still worked after five days outside.

Sowed some pea's and broad beans today, not sure if they'll germinate but it can get quite warm in the GH with the door closed.

Have some sweet pea, holly hock and daisy seedlings sown in the autumn, they could look better but I'm hopeful they will survive till the spring.

Has anyone started sowing chillies, peppers or aubergines yet... .
