Would like some cape gooseberri, Gg

Presumably the pumpkin seeds are sown Apr/May. I got them as seedlings from a guy on the allotments. He goes regularly so will ask and let you know.

Wind and rain arrived here today hope it's better tomorrow hoping to go to plot in the morning.

  • OK Zoomer, I will sort some Cape gooseberry seeds out pm me your address.

  • Went collected some pallets this morning from Woolston wood recycle place for shed took to plot, started raining alot then so put under plastic,  shed looks a bit wet outside wood - was watching a few plot holders while waiting for the rain to stop

    harvested a few apples

Went looked later at my other pallet resource place and got a few more took one apart so should have enough for the shed side and some bits to make a bit of a kitchen area for inside shed

l hope storm passes over tonight with out too much damage

Didn't get to the plot, it rained most of the day.

I've quite a few winter jobs, we get alot of vermin, if the winters sever rabbits eat the bark off fruit trees so they need protecting, I've to make abase for a GH and was going to add an extra bay to the compost area...

  • Went to the allotment really cold to start with on way there the road had a lake in it, re put tarpaulin on shed roof now back over the porch, we off loaded pallets and fed next doors chickens

Storm has broken my gazebo in garden split poles and riped roof - it was upside down on ground it was protecting my scaffold boards ready to paint but now they are soaking wet - temp put back up but think it will fall over and I will have to find somewhere to put the boards to dry

  • made a quick dash to the plot yesterday to buy some eggs. Pulled up some cabbage and did a bit of weeding /digging again.

Made a lovely dish of cabbage and onions fried in butter and garlic, so simple but really tasty!image

Today is a wash out, floods everywhere, hope you are all ok

Went to the allotment yesterday. The committee didn't get back about turning off the water, so some of us took it upon ourselves to go head. We also drained the system.

Someone from the committee arrived as we finished, luckily one of the plot holders knew where all the taps where so hopefully there won't be any bursts...

  • Zoomer44 I have sent your seeds today

Went to the allotment done some digging as wood for shed very wet, covers got blown over in the windy weather

Do any of you have allotment clear up days on areas that are not plots? and if so is it most pot holders or just the committee
