  • OMG Ginagibbs that is brilliant news - fab having a new half a plot and next to yours is a bonus - no moving and you get to keep what you have done already,  what a great find on the pallet collars

Been watching birds today saw a black cap in garden

    Hello new people

I like grow sure compost for seed sowing, I have not thought about growing seeds in organic compost even though I grow organicly

Ginagibbs , can’t remember but agree must be years

Went to plot today took 6 bags of bark clippings up

Also harvested the rest of the sprouts  , o/h will freeze those not used

Still got some cabbages , brought 1 home as well

Looks like next week is going to be cold ❄️

Garden girl how is Diary going ?image

  • GWRS diary going well, only thing I find is that the other activities box is a little small - I make notes on sticky notes then figure out a way of writing them out to fit into box - there is a big space for compost bits (not used any of that middle bit yet)

As there is a wildlife box I look out for the wildlife more and try and count each - really enjoying watching the wildlife each day I go - good noting the weather never done that before in diarys

    GWRS good lot harvested there

I went to the plot yesterday and put up 2 new bird boxes on a post attached to the compost bins, also spotted a plot neighbour had put up a bird box similar way to mine and we saw a blue tit check it out and go inside for a while

Put up my re-painted bird caravan house in garden today, black cap came back to garden today and yesterday later in day two massive heron birds flew over garden never seen them before looked like jurassic park thing

Ginagibbs have made nice friends on here - the link to the first thread started in January 2014, before my plot

Gardengirl , agree about Diary , middle bit takes up to much room , obviously designed by people who don’t have allotment , I sometimes put extra bits in the middle

Often thought about doing an allotment diary just see what I do over a year

We get  Herons in stream at side of house and in field do agree they look Jurassic

Site running since 2014 , amazing how time goes by

  • Hi all, had a productive day at the plot yesterday.

The people with my new pot have started to move their stuff, but there's a lot of junk that I have a hunch they wont bother to move. We always have a skip in March so will get rid of it then.

Got about 10 bags of pony poo so my back aches today!

put loads of onion sets into cells to get them growing and potted up some summer bulbs (all in greenhouse) pruned some of my fruit bushes and moved a raised bed

Harvested sprouts, cabbage and kale for soup.

We have Pterodactyl's .... oops I mean  Herons at our local park as there is a pond. imageimage.

  • Ginagibbs 10 bags brilliant tough going, nice your allotment gets a skip not at ours but then tip near by

Went to the plot today moved some heavy paving slabs from one end of plot to other to get nearer for building little shed

Also moved some wood about so sunny today clear sky just cold
