Hello GWRS here are some pictures for you, my hanging bird table all fixed
hope you like
Bit blurry picture - here is what got delivered today a bark chipping pile - some woody chips but lots of green and still holly leaves - dont want that for my paths kneeling on holly painful
Done some digging today and clearing at the allotment of the plastic bags with bark chippings in, (collected a long while back) put onto cardboard I had put down a bit ago the plastic bags falling to bits and so as every where and small bits too
Sun had broke bags down, learnt never to collect bark in bags and leave for a long time
Lots of frogs were in between bags got a picture of one so cute
I put out the table today with a suet bock in waiting for the robin to use it
Harvested a few potatoes from garden from a bag
I got a delivery today so exciting my boots - as there were no muck boots I brought the little boots from cuckooland.com offer from GW mag they look good and comfy
Winter solstice today so days should start to lengthen light wise
Had a big delivery of wood chippings so got my paths covered. Dug up some Jerusalem artichokes, will roast them for Christmas dinner along with my parsnips and spuds.
Have a happy Christmas everyone, just off to works Christmas lunch now, then off for 6 days, yippee!!
Just got our first ever plot last week. Looking forward to reading some more of the wisdom on this thread. Started with thread 1 but I am only up to page 10 so far.
Anuwa, I´ve started clearing the rampant couch grass and preparing the ground for spring, one bed at a time. I´m looking for a little help/advice. There is a tree in the centre of the plot which I´d like to identify. I think it might be a pear tree.
Can anybody on here tell what it is? And is there anything I need to do now to help it along for next year´s growing season - pruning? mulching? etc...?
