That's a job I've yet to do GWRS all my pruning and woody stuff are lurking behind my polytunnel !

Didn't get to the plot yesterday, one of my dogs got trodden on by the horse, so ended up at the vetsimage

He is ok, its just a cut and he's sporting a bright blue bandage now, mind you it was so cold and windy I don't think I could stand being outside for too long.

Only just read you post Gg, I'd use black plastic, my bin has a weed membrane but only as it was to hand when I made the bays.

I'm redesigning one of my beds and going to have a nursery for first sowings and seedlings. I acquired some pallet braces, I think that's what they're called, the plan is to have at least four small beds, close to the GH.

I'll take some pics and try to post them when finished. It may take a few weeks as the weather hasn't been ideal, it was snowing here this morning. Not sure what it's going to be like over the weekend. I've started to relocate the fruit bushes to make room.

Hi all, dog seems on the mend, it hasn't stopped him going for walkies!  Thanks for your kind messages.

Zoomer I use pallet braces (or collars) very useful for making raised beds.

    Have a good weekendimage

Went to the plot yesterday checked everything after the stormy ish weather cover bits over, my neighbour on next door plot was having a bonfire as had cleared a lot of brambles from end of plot and wind was blowing my way - next week I will try have a bonfire as do need to sort some of the brambles out at end of plot and also have full bonfire bin with wood to burn

So many plots have been broken into this week thanks to them breaking (cutting) the fence from the little school and getting in - lucky not my end of allotments - council say it is schools fence even though we have it edge of allotments and school try and fix with small bit of wire no good broken again and shoved sideways and got in again

Found a notice on the notice board asking for volunteers (from Sheffield university) to fill out an allotment diary for a year so can see what people do on their allotment so have emailed to see if I can do it, will let you know if it is for anywhere in the country and if any of you want to take part I will pass details on
