Surprising how quickly you run out of space.

I'm not sown courgettes, squash and pumpkin yet, there won't be room for them to have their own spot so thought I'd grow them under fruit tree's and the gooseberry bushes.

I'm going to grow dwarf beans and squash with sweetcorn, it worked well last year.

Planted five asparagus crowns this morning but have another twelve to put in.

Scroggins , I known what you mean , plenty of empty beds then looking for places to put things but it's a nice problem to have

    Everybody's been busy

Gardengirl , how is your pallett pile ?

Hoping to get up there some time this week image

GWRS, why do you put the pellets in glass jars? Do they work better that way?

Everyone's been so busy... I wish I'd done more this weekend, but the slugs have put a damper on my enthusiasm. Still, I'm getting closer to getting fine tilth on the beds I cleared earlier this spring.

I haven't sown anything direct yet, the forecast for the week after next is pretty bleak.

I might try the dwarf (French) beans and sweetcorn combination, it sounds good.

Aster2 , I put pellets in jars to stop birds eating them , I known they are not suppose to but I think it helps , I virtually have no slug damage on my plot

we went to g/c yesterday and for my birthday next week had 2 climbing roses to put up either side of arch , so need to fix arch and plant roses

    Going up there shortly

O/H is going to sew some parsnip seeds under cloches and strim edge of plot

Lovely and sunny but still cold

    Have a good day everybodyimage

Just been looking at picture of Gardengirl's allotment shop (posted in March) - absolutely brilliant. I might have missed further details in another message, but can Gardengirl tell us how this shop is run and funded? Here in Marlow in Bucks, we have two allotment sites, and a shop, even half as good as GG's, would be a treat.

Depending on GG's response - and ,indeed, any comments on this subject from other forum members, I will pester our allotment committee, and local Town Council to see what they can do. Might prove interesting!

Hello all another good day at allotment and nice weather image

Put in some more potatoes Collen Organic , never grown these so interesting to see how they do

Put 3 pumpkins in under round cloches , never grown these before either

O/H put parsnip seeds in and some beetroot ( next plot holder gave them to us ) plants in under cloches

Started to dig up out of control rashberry forest from when we took the plot on , decided it has got to go !

Gardening tomorrow  at home , hope you have all had a good day image

Weather was nice here too image. but was at work image looking forward to my jollies in three weeks time though image  will be away this year for birthday, have a nice one GWRS.

Gg's garden shop is amazing isn't it.

Went to the plot to water stuff in GH. Taps haven't been turned on yet due to predicted frost but after all the rain we had water butts are over flowing.

A lovely evening around here too. I finally put the mulch mat around the strawberries. Everyone I've spoken to on the allotment says there's a slug problem and says they're using pellets around young plants. I only wish I'd known that before the slugs finished off my echinacea.

Hello , water available from May , however , water butts full and water cubes still have plenty in

We don't have shop , site not big enough ,

The  Garden club in the Village did have one open 20years ago but you could get things cheaper from the likes of B & Q , however , they did sell stuff loose ie. bone meal ect . So it was run down and closed
