Went to the allotment yesterday and done lots of bark chipping moving took the garden wheelbarrow which helped big time
Did some hammering, sawing and drilling added wood edging planks around my bird area, off plot dug over soil and levelled out the area added weed matting and lots of bark chipping for path off plot near brambles
Made a big difference even if only half sorted
I would get one of those window opening vents for the gh - seen them online and in Hilliers gc bit of money but easier on yourself
I have brought raffle tickets to win a portable stove from the allotment few weeks off yet
Lots off seedlings growing, need to plant my gladioli bulbs soon
Spent most of day at plot sorting out a bit of digging and started building the fence around my bird house area sorted that bit, more people out and about today
watched the butterflies flying around, did have a butterfly this morning in my plastic walk in gh which I took out and let fly off
Later sowed some seeds cucumbers, cucamelons, courgettes and pumpkin - thans for them Zoomer44
Hello, I'm new, both to the forums and allotment having o/ I'm a flower grower who has been dreaming of veg for years but never lived close enough to allotments to have one. Then I moved house and this week finally got my own plot of earth to dig. It's an allotment/community garden and unfortunately no permanent structures, but that's ok because it's 2 minutes walk from my house so I can just wheelbarrow stuff round, also very close to my food and kettle.
Two hours of digging and half of my patch is prepared, I could get used to this. Effort was put in, results are visible. I'm going to start propagating inca berries, which are the fruit of the gods and need growing like tomatoes when the sun goes down a bit.

I'm away this weekend so will try to go to plot tomorrow to check seedlings
I don't seem to do well with carrots, parsnips or mooli. Was going to sow more broad beans and peas this week to have a succession crop.
