Went to the allotment and trimmed more grass with cutters de - weeded broad beans, took a plant to plot a jasmine - winter one with yellow flowers and put up wires across fence with the twisty eyes and hoping to get the plant trained across the fence

The allotment gates this week will be changed to combination locks, seems as though someone vandalled the main gate lock over night

Welcome Learnincurve sounds as though you have made a great start, nice looking area good near to home, are you allowed to grow anything?

Hello everyone, hope you are all well. Does anyone have any suggestions for mending rips in polytunnels? mine has split open, have tried gorilla tape but it doesn't work for  long, was thinking of stitching it back together, new covers cost about £50!

Was given some nice rustic bean poles so will grow some runner beans this year(not my favorite) Lots of sowing done and seeds coming up, running out of room now!

Found 2 more pallet collars so made another raised bed and we had 2 deliveries of wood chipping so got my paths all renewed. image

Good luck with your new plot Learnincurve, my plot is a 10 min walk from my house, luckily we have sheds thoughimage

Scroggins, good to have a helper image

  • Many things have been done and purchased over the last few days; main bed is now prepared, still need to dig over the potato area but they haven't turned up yet.  First lot of beetroot is sown as are leeks and carrots, cauliflower and inca berries are in the propigator. Onion sets have arrived. Strawberries, including pineberry, are on their way as are net cloches.

Poly cloches are coming for my back garden and the four apple trees for my "mini" orchard in the front garden are on their way, m106 rootstock, it is entirely possible that most of my garden will turn into an actual orchard.
