Aster2 , just thought , last posting was for netting , for fleece , make a little tent  , not effected plants if resting on them as I use very cheap/thin fleece from Poundland

once again best of luck image

image I meant, how do you decide when the plants are big enough so that the birds won't touch them?

That sounds like the simplest solution - I'll get some fleece and throw it over the plants.

Hi All, been off work for a week and not even looked at a computer! Had a few really good days at my plot, re edged one of my paths in some old 4 x 2" wood I had salvaged and topped up the wood chips. looking good now. Skip was delivered to our site so I chucked some rubbish away and tidied up too. image

Most of my seeds are up and running but I think my compost is spoiling some of the courgette and squash seeds as they have not all germinated. (perhaps I'm being impatient.

Glad you got some more beds Aster, you are so lucky!image

I know I am, ginagibbs, especially because the alternative was another overgrown plot.

Glad to hear you had a nice holiday, it's always good to be gardening and not sitting at a computer, isn't it?
