Except I don't like those blue poppies.....image image

I was about to say something similar about the variegated Hebes, Verd - even more mature ones can be less hardy than the non variegated ones. Sheltered spot in well drained soil for them Lou image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Managed to do some gardening yesterday re planted the station hanging baskets (2 of them) with plants dug up from around the garden as all the violas in it had it with all the rain over the winter

So now has forget me nots around the sides, top  antirrhinum, wallflower and poached egg plants in

My Hebes are flowering so the few big bumbles I have seen are enjoying them, my variegated one is getting big in container near house

Today cut up the tea bag cardboard packaging to make a new seed box storage for all the free seeds from Garden News mag

I did plant them back in early summer Verdun so the poor little things weren't plunged into freezing earth in the middle of winter image

Maybe they will keep their leaves next winter when they have grown a bit but it's good to know they are tender in their first year, I won't be too hard on them!

I don't like blue poppies either fairygirl, I heard that they are considered to be ultra bad luck in their native country and should never be picked.

    Of course it does, Hosta.

I've washed my 3 electric propagators  and some seed trays. Have sowed broad beans, mange tout peas and sweet peas in pots and put them in a cold frame.
