Just got back in from work and off out to mow the lawn. I hurled the contents of some ancient packets of seeds that have been sitting in the drawer for about 5 years into the beds thinking they would make nice bird food and they've all come up! I have loads of sunflowers I'll have to put somewhere sensible and poppy seedlings everywhere. What a nice surprise.

i don't mean threw them today, I mean about a week and a half ago :-) I mowed today and noticed I had lots of seedlings coming up.

Watered lots of pots, pricked out some lettuce seedlings and thought about mowing the lawn.

Decided to wait until tomorrow in the hope of getting some help raking up the clippings, I won't hold my breath though.

My Larkspurs and Orlaya haven't germinated image But last years clarkia has seeded itself all over the place, even though it's been rotavated.

Have planted out antirrhinums, cosmos and salpiglottis in the cutting bed. Also 3 Gypsophila Bristol Fairy that I'd grown in pots from bought roots. Something had nipped the cosmos seedling heads off - the seeds I sowed direct into the ground. Have planted out Little Gem lettuces.

Have had a big shuffle, there is now room to plant some tomatoes in the GH. Have re-sown the perpetual spinach, didn't germinate, think it was too cold when I sowed it.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Nice day today, but after a tiring and tiresome week didn't really get much done...

Planted out a few things where the soil didn't look too difficult and fed/watered the street ducks

I'm on the last of the daffs now so poked some sticks in the ground where I want to plant moreimage

Waited in all day for a plant delivery which didn't arriveimage What kind of delivery company collects plants on Thurs and delivers them on, presumably Monday now...grrrimage

Have emptied and cleaned my half barrel pond, refilled and now looking good.  Finished mowing lawns and tidied the borders.

Installed a water feature for the 'new' border, planted those fire and ice I was going to do yesterday, planted some luzula Nivea too.  My better half also planted out some sweet peas.

Good day - unplanted plant numbers almost looking manageable now....
