Cornwalls a funny place BL it can be chucking it down 5 miles down the road and sunny where you are.  Lots of time spent there on holiday and it was very rare we couldn't find somewhere in a 30 mile radius where it wasn't raining.

A bit drizzly here in the West Mids but not cold.  Have managed to edge the front lawn, collect all the twigs and rubbish lying around and FBB the borders.  Looks much better now.  If I can mulch all the borders before the end of the month and sow some of my seeds I'll be on track.image

It's about 2 degrees here and hailstones and sleet.

Can I swap you for a couple of days Verd? image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • The lovely sunshine of the last two days has been replaced here in Norfolk by soggy ground and constant drizzle - I've been out to fill the bird-feeders but there's no gardening being done here today image

Yes, went out to look at the variegated hebes I bought from Morrisons. They should be called Hebe disapointment as they are bare branched.

I had hoped they were evergreen and would look cheerful in winter but apparently not.

The aquilegias on the other hand are leafing up really well, it is their third year of very strong growth which pleases me as my gardeing catalogue says they don't do well on heavy clay but they are thriving image

How lovely, Scroggin, my favourite sort of dog. I've had them for nearly 40 years. They are very intelligent and easily trainable. My were all trained not to go in flower beds and not to poo on the lawn. But now my oldie, 13, is getting a bit forgetful, but I think he's not really aware, bit incontinent. He's been so good until the last year.

I've weeded and tidied up the greengage tree bed this afternoon. The tree fell down in a gale and OH has chopped it up. But there are new branches further down the trunk below where it snapped.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Beaten by the light again.

Cleaned the greenhouse roof. So much brighter now.

Potted on foxgloves, lupins and ami.

Gave one of the cold frames a good scrub.

Off to get ready now for a lovely meal with friends in Stamford. Going for Nepales. Yum!
