Go on as much as you like Flumpy.  That is what we are here for.  But I did think all businesses that employed people had to have a trained first aider and a health and safety officer.  Perhaps your head office needs to send you on a course to learn how to keep the place safe for all of you and put up your salary when you pass the qualification.  Steel toecaps in our gardening boots, gardening gloves always, anti tetanus injections, no ladder work unless passed the test, a drink of water every hour in hot weather, were all things the Health and safety people checked us volunteers for at the Botanic Garden.  We even had to read up about the chance of Legionnaire;s disease from opening new compost bags!

Brrr it is still only 2 degrees and max forecast of 8 so coldest day here for some time.   Showers some heavy, forecast too for Bristol but it is sunny at the moment and dry. I will wrap up warm a little later and try to get more weeding done.

GWRS, you too.  I got quite a lot of weeding done then went for my camera as the sun was not too bright and blow me it suddenly got colder and started to rain.  But I did get a picture of my big fat pink tulips which are almost ready for deadheading.  They are huge now fully open.

Such a pity you cannot smell it.  It really is a perfumed garden this afternoon.

Hello , do you dig up your tulips and save them  or leave in ? They do look magnificent image

GWRS I leave mine to die back if they are in pots then plant them straight in the garden at a bit deeper than in pots.  My friend who has a small garden and likes to plant new ones every year lets his die down then dries them off and brings them to me to plant in my large garden.  He puts labels in the bags but sometimes they stray and so I have no name for some of the lovely surprises I get!  Some of my tulips like the double orange and yellow one above have been coming up for me for years without any attention except deadheading.

Brrrr just 1 degree this morning though very bright and sunny and dry.  Forecast says rain later in the afternoon so will have to do what I can before then but not till it reaches 6 degrees and will need a coat and warm gloves again.  It is going to be a little warmer for the holiday weekend.
