My order from the Secret Garden Club has just arrived - 3x Sempervivum "Kraners Spinrad" which have 60 babies between them and 5x prepared hyacinths to flower for Xmas,"Jan Bos". A busy day planting for me tomorrow.
Your conservatory plants will cheer you up on a miserable wet day, Marion.
With two empty garden bins, I have been out for short periods cutting back perennials which have finished flowering so the garden is looking a bit less bedraggled.
Also had a delivery from Secret Garden Club - 5 Erythronium White Beauty. Decided to plant them up straight away and the heavens opened, but as I was already wet...! I already have E. Pagoda in the garden and they are so beautiful. Erythronium can be so pricey but very reasonable from SGC.
Coincidence! Do you have any other Erythroniums Joyce? How long have you had your Pagoda? Mine have only been in 3 years so don't think I will need to divide for a while yet.
/Sorry don't mean to sound like the Spanish Inquisition.
I too have just received - 5 Erythronium White Beauty from the Secret Garden Club I haven't grown them before so any advice on how to grow them would be most welcome.
Joyce, I have about 10 Pagoda in what I euphemistically call my woodland area which is actually a NW facing bed with an elderflower tree in it!
Mobow, I have put my bulbs straight into the ground as I did with Pagoda 3 years ago, but Joyce's idea sounds good- grow in pots then put into the ground. I have such a small garden that I try to avoid pots if I can.

Daisy, I got 3 White Beauty with my bulb order yesterday.
Pagoda will need to be split after flowering next year as they are sizeable clumps.

Hi
I too have just received - 5 Erythronium White Beauty from the Secret Garden Club I haven't grown them before so any advice on how to grow them would be most welcome.
Daisy, my 4 Pagodas have been in for about 10 years. 3 are in a south facing position and 1 in partial shade.
I'm going to start White Beauty off in pots and plant them out in the spring.
I lost one last year when I put the hoe through it.

Thanks Daisy for getting back to me. I wasn't sure about putting them straight in the ground as I didn't want to lose them during the winter.
I think I might start them off in pots and plant them out in the spring as Joyce suggests.
