My youngest son has moved the dead tree from off the path all by himself! He said it was not very heavy! Now it will be left for the wildlife! My second youngest grandson is setting up a website which he wants me to contribute to - pics and articles on gardening ! If course i said yes as I know how i have loved being part of the Forum. The weather today has been glorious. I planted a dahlia called Claudette and spread some horse manure which is well rotted on the raised beds. Will plant the early potatoes tomorrow, weather permitting, or perhaps Sunday.
Hi Marion, lovely lovely pictures Marion my favourite is the orange tulip and the blue one. Hey it sounds like your grandson maybe taking after you Marion in the garden department.
well we some how ended up at the garden centre I bought osteospernums, two trays of big violas for my hanging baskets and fence planters, I also found a bunch of tulip bulbs growing in my greenhouse so I've put them in a bunch in my flower bed . Going to make tea now, looking forward to that Cod mmmmm
We have had absolutely lovely weather today and spent most of it at one of the allotments. Got lots planted / sown and finished off lots of digging.
Its been so warm here, 'im indoors has got sunburn!
i'm having a day off allotmenting tomorrow - it's my birthday and the forecast isn't very good anyway. Few yeas ago we had a heatwave for my birthday and I've been wishing hard for the same ever since!
The forecast for Bristol was spot on - wet and windy though very mild at 10 degrees already and set to reach 13. I am so glad I got my urgent jobs done in the garden yesterday when it was so lovely with brilliant sunshine and wall to wall blue skies. I said to my son it is difficult to believe nasty weather is on the way but it was. I shall bake an Easter cake and give the house a spruce up today for Easter visitors.
Morning Marion, grey and gloomy here today and set to rain at 11am onwards seems warm tho, I suppose it will water them plants I've just put in and my violas in my hanging basket, my sweet peas have only got six leaves so I can't pinch them yet, since I've put them in the greenhouse the growth has slown right down .
We are popping to Next as I've ordered some summer items for our hols but bought in both sizes just in case then I can return one .
It's windy here but not as wet as I expected. But I'm enjoying a quiet hour with the cat on my knee, reading my copy of Which Gardening which came this morning. They've evaluated scented annuals and there are some in their "recommended" list which I've never grown; annual lupin 'Pink Fairy', and Cleome 'Helen Campbell'. Do you know these two, Marion? I quite fancy growing something new this year.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

looking forward to seeing your Easter cake Marion

Same to you Snow. It is so windy today this collar dove decided the trees were swaying too much and opted for the street light as the best bet!
