Good morning everyone!, woken up to blue sky this am but very fresh chill in the air, hopefully get my violas planted, I like to keep the colour going in our garden for as long as possible
what are you upto today Marion? Lovely pictures by the way.
Flumpy the green wheeliebin has been filled up again and I have trimmed 12 lovely new bean sticks from the bamboo mountain my sons left me to dispose of. I want to get a lot done outside today while it is good weather as the forecast for tomorrow is rain all day. However Sunday and Monday are going to be fine and sunny and later in the week it is forecast to be warm again. Fuel bills should be down this year with such warm weather not needing any heating on.
What a good idea Joyce. I could plant my heavy tools in spots I find troublesome! I have wanted a border fork for a long time since I got on with the ones we had at the Botanic Garden so well.
Aym208 I think we all have the same trouble with plant purchases. I do get a lot of my beauties from friends in the AGS though and as birthday and Xmas presents.
this are the two planters I've been planting up, they already have osteospermums in them but I thought they looked a bit empty so I've put pansies in. ...............
Handy trough there Flumpy - just sits on top of fence! You should have colour for some time now. We have had heavy rain in Bristol through the night and the garden is soaked. Good day for scrubbing the conservatory floor methinks. And perhaps a trip to our local shops which takes me past our florists. I think the conservatory will deserve a new inmate after all the work it has had done on it and it is time to look in the purse to see if anything is left from last month's pocket money. Tomorrow is forecast to be a great day for gardening so I can make up time on my mountain of bamboo then. The asters are looking great now they have raindrops glistening on the flowers.
Thanks Marion, I've had them planters for about a year now but my osteospermums where looking a bit scraggly so thought pansies will fill them and give them colour! .
Awe glad your treating yourself Marion and the conservatory of course, you've worked hard enough, enjoy and looking forward to seeing your purchase
Oh my it only takes me an hour to go to our local shops, get necessities in the supermarket and visit the florists but the sun managed to hide before I got safely home and the heavens opened! But I did get my two new plants safely home. With my £10 left from September I bought a pot of white patio roses with four plants in the pot for £4.99 and a pink begonia to befriend the salmon orangey one I bought last year which has not stopped flowering all year for £3.99 Same price as last year and what a beautiful feast to the eye it has been for a whole year! It deserved to get in the picture so here it is on the left of the other two. Tosser the wood pigeon was feeding when I had the camera out.

Buying a new plant for the conservatory Marion? It's good to treat ourselves after doing all the hard work.
A chilly start to October but blue sky and sun and to be the same tomorrow.
Bulb order arrived late yesterday afternoon so pots to get filled but the tulips aren't done until next month.
