Great day for gardening.  My white liatris got planted, a few more hundreds of nettles pulled up before they get big, fallen tree nearly denuded of its ivy and honeysuckle and dead branches wrenched off so looking more manoeverable now.  I saw a lovely Brimstone yellow butterfly up in the butterfly garden and told myself off for not taking my camera up with me.  Did not see any bees yet but expect some since we are to have a week of this weather.  The white Spanish bluebells are flowering and my pulsatilla vulgaris.

Hi everyone, I've had a good day in the garden too, dug the soil over, raked the moss from the lawn, cut my Geraniums, mint and other plants, and fixed the greenhouse and put the sweet peas in the greenhouse ho and cleaned the doors and windows, just had tea and now relaxing watching Gymnastics image

Another good day for gardening .  Sun out and dry and calm.  I will plant the ranunculus I had given on Mothers Day and three red hemerocallis which are growing away nicely in their pots before they get any bigger.  More nettles will be pulled out and I will find my garden saw and try to saw off some of the longer branches of the dead tree.  My new iris reticulata are showing colour and the scent from the Yellow Cheerfulness narcissus is wonderful so may have some pictures later.

It is only a small garden saw GWRS but cuts branches a bit thicker than my loppers.  Have a great time up the allotment.  This sunshine is sublime.

I have my yearly check-up at the Healthy Heart clinic today so that will disrupt my gardening but got lots done yesterday.  Amazed to see the white Spanish scillas flowering so soon.  Broad beans showing in their pots in the conservatory this morning so that was only a few days germination.  I think my early potatoes will be planted Good Friday this year as they are sprouting nicely on the kitchen windowsills.  There are buds on the tree peonies and the hydrangeas are showing signs of life too.

Hope all goes well today, Marion.

Lots of early flowering here too; Tulipa sylvestris is just beginning to open - it's the only tulip I've managed to keep from year to year in this NE-facing garden.  It's delightfully scented.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
