I am deadheading them like mad Joyce as they have loads of unopened buds on which should go on opening up if I look after the plants.  Another lovely lot o rain through the night followed by a super sunny day, all day.  No wind either so the drive should stay free of fallen leaves today.  The rain last night had brought down quite a few yellow ones.  I refuse to believe it is autumn already despite September starting next week.  Green wheeliebin gets emptied today so I will be filling it up and then the cotainers which I will have emptied into it.

They were born after his death Joyce but are really interested in their family history.  I have got  out the wedding album and rewound the mantelclock which was presented in 1918 to my father in law when he retired from the Middlesex regiment as Regimental Sergeant Major.

Marion hope all goes well today, happy memories image

my uncle is just doing our family tree, I find it so interesting, I will be thinking of you, I'm off to lunch today with a friend I used to work with, so we will have a good catch up, have a lovely day Marion image and remember the box of tissues.

No need for tissues nowadays Flumpy.  My garden had five willing and experienced gardeners tending it yesterday.  They uncovered a lot of structures installed by my late husband which i hadn't seen for years.  My terrace has been uncovered so I will be working on that soon and sending pictures.  I caught the tailend of a quote on Radio4 this morning in which someone said gardening should be an Olympic Sport. I hereby award my four sons and no3's partner a Gold Medal.  Today i shall be propping up all the new beansticks they cut me from the bamboo grove  round the caravan for the winter to temper.  They all know what tempering means now.  I had to learn it at the Botanic Garden when working there as a volunteer.   I always say knowledge is not private property.

Good afternoon Marion, that must of been such a joy to rediscover the terrace, sounds like you've got very nice children and grandchildren with big hearts with a wonderful knowledgable mother & grandmother image

got lots of tidying to do and trimming in my garden but it's gone a bit grey outside, it started off lovely and sunny this am too, what's it like in Bristol?

Fine weather in Bristol for my big tidying up session.  Every Friday morning from now till next spring will see me stuffing the green wheeliebin minutes after it has been empjtied!
