I was down on my new half plot again today.

When digging it over I've found brick paths afew inches under the surface, it's like finding buried treasure...paths in the wrong place but these can be recycled to make new paths...at some time the plot must have been well cared for.

The shed...home made... stands on a brick foundation and the GH, although without glass is on a concrete foundation with a concrete path down the middle.

My new half plot has been like an Aladin's Cave ompared to the first oneimage.

Hello , Zoomer the  Allottment finds sounds exciting better than all the rotten wood I found on my half plot extension ,  however , it does burn well

Beetroot , we have been grating it raw on salads and cooking it as a veg with dinner , as well as Pickling

    Best wishes everybodyimage

    Hi, GWRS,

my cups half full on this plot but there were few treasures on the first. It was black plactic, night mares tail, bindweed, brambles and the biggest pile of stones you have ever seen.

I've unearthed one rotting sleeper and two scafholding planks on this site. me thinks there's still yrs life in them so have used then as path edging...

  • Zoomer44 any pics?   Sounds as though your plot is a secret garden with lots of treasures to be found - keep going

At the train station garden we have unearthed lots of old rubbish and some money 1ps and 2ps mainly and lots of stones, roots

Fruitcake sounds as though you had a good harvest and what to plant next

Do any of you have a wildflower patch?

  • Hi Zoomer, I found lots of planks and bits of wood on my plot, they do make good path edgers, Just had a week off so spent many hours doing this! (plus clearing weeds).

I took a photo last night to show you all where  I am. It might not look much but all the beds were under 2' of grass and weeds and its all been hand dug.

  • Hi GG, not I do have a shed, thats my walk in "green house" (father inlaw bought it for me, bless) . I got this plot in June.

Went to Wilkinsons this lunch time, they have a sale on most of their garden stuff so bought some brackets to make raised beds and a weed killing torch thingy to blast some weeds away. image
