  • I made a start on digging at the chicken plot yesterday image it's raining again today so no gardening for me today...but still plenty of painting left to be done of the chicken house. Hoping to get that finished today

  • Haven't got to the allotment today due to work and the weather and yesterday we had friends over so hopefully will get there tomorrow with the family. Can't wait to get Mr Stagbeetle digging it over and the kids clearing the shed image

Attended the AGM  this evening. It was good to meet other allotmenteers, some I'd not seen or spoken to before.

  • What is the club Zoomer, is it just for your allotments or for the area? Our allotments are run by the council and they have an association. Have'nt joined yet.

  • went to the allotment this morning to get the roof on the chicken run.

It rained all day yesterday and consequently it was impossible to do anything there today image

  • That must be so frustrating Fruitcake.

we went to the allotment this morning and managed to clear a bed of old potatoes and leeks. The resident fox was there this morning. It felt so good being at the allotment image but made the mistake of walking there as it isn't far but my youngest wanted to be carried back and we had a spade, fork and food/drink to take back so wasn't the easiest walk home, must bring the ring sling next time.

  • Stagbeetle good you got some stuff dug, nice you had a picnic up the allotment,  did they all enjoy the plot?

Think it is good to have a nursery bed where you can grow plants on before they go in to there proper planting area, that is what I will have

Zoomer44 nice to see other allotmenteer's

Fruitcake is that the clay soil

Don't know about our council having an association

  • No GG, it's not clay soil, just very, very wet soil that has been trampled several times image . Looks like Glastonbury lol

Eventually we want to get bark down on that path but we will have to wait for it to dry out
