    Gardengirl

I am just finishing harvesting chard and p s broccoli. I sweat chard down like spinach, drain it and squash it and freeze in small balls and eat it in the winter.

I have runner beans, French climbing and barlotti beans to go in. Small area so things have to climb.

Radishes growing well as is garlic (Autumn sown) and shallots.

Lettuce in GH ready to go out after frosts.

Toms, cumbers, peppers, chillies, aubergine, courgette and a gourd thingimage seeds bought in Greece. Spuds in sacks and will use sacks for late carrots, less root fly later.

Need to do my spinach and beetroot ASAP as well as my bunching spring onions and rocket, and coriander and basil for GH

It keeps blinking raining on me image However the soil is lovely and warm so battle stations ASAP

Hope you all have a great productive season image

Kef , do you replant the potatoe sacks with carrots after harvesting them ?

    sounds interestingimage

Hi GWRS I empty the sacks when harvesting then re-fill with the same compost to which I add organic potato feed and sow my carrots. My carrots seem to like potato feed image

Thats a good idea KEF, I was wondering what to do with all that lovely soil in my potato sacks.

Had my first crop of radishes yesterday, yum (not too peppery).  image Will try and get my beans in this weekend, but off to Malvern Flower show on Sunday.

Hi KEF like the idea chard balls may try that, do you have a proper GH not a plastic one?

Ginagibbs all I get is the squashed tomato when trying to upload a pic so still no go, sounds as though you may well get the plot maybe they had a look around thought about it and are not sure they will do anything will just have to wait an see if you see them again

It may well take a while digging the allotment plot but I am doing little by little, some progress as the ground looks a bit leveller even with 5 metre dug

I have 1 sweetcorn out of 20 seeds up so far just waiting on the rest, runner beans sowed last week still awaiting on them new seeds on both things

Gg I have two glass GH's image The old one gets less sun so it suits the cumbers, new replacement one ( my wooden one rotted after 22 yrs) is for GH toms, peppers, chillies etc. I also grow outdoor medium sized cherry toms, any surplus I freeze whole and use for cooking in the winter. I also make gummy tomatoes..Jamie Oliver recipe image
