Went up the allotment today and planted pea seeds and dug up a bit more of a bed whilst trying to get the 2yr old to stay on our plot.
Some netting gas been taken from our plot but that could have been the wind but today my son went to the shed and it had brick in the way so he moved it to get into the shed but yesterday I put a bit of cane in the lock to hold it shut, so either someone nosed around the shed or the shed blew open and some put a brick against the door. Nothing was taken but I'm going to buy a lock for it.
Stagbeetle hope it's nothing sinister going on at your site. it isnt a nice feeling At one of my sites, you can leave anything anywhere, go back and it will still be there but at the other one, you have to lock everything away. Even if it's nailed down they'll still take it
new site new has broad bean plants and carrot seeds sown. I should have done so much more digging than I have done, but the chickens are properly distracting! I *have* to get more done in the next few days if I am to get my sweetcorn and peas out!
Hi All, back to work from a 5 day break that's been all gardening or allotmenting
Plots looking good, got all my spuds in, carrots, turnips, radish, and spring onions in, plus loads more sowings. Transplanted leeks into bigger pots and got some stakes and wire set up for my boisenberry's. A skip turned up so we've all been chucking away our junk (pity my neighbour has'nt been up, his plot looks a tip!!)
What lovely weather its been here, hope its been the same where you are
Hi GWRS, hope I got the spelling right, its a bit like a blackberry, not tasted one yet, I was given some by one of the other plot holders and she has tonnes of them. They are quite thorny. Planted a redcurrant and Tayberry last weekend too, I do love soft fruit
I got the letter from the council yesterday a allotment plot is available - Exciting
We collected the key which was £5 deposit as needed that to look around, you don't get shown around the site to the plot so we had to use the map provide which was not very clear and finally found the plot the which was a different way around to the map
Took my camera so here are some pics
The plot is very brambly and extremely uneven ground, bit by bit the whole site would have to be cleared and levelled off also lots of mess to clear as well, there have been break-in's near by as notes on peoples sheds.
There is a foot path at the end of the plot and a sports field next to the plot on the right so can be a bit windy
I am unsure whether to take the plot or not - need others opinion please
The plot is 8.5 rods big I have marked it out with the yellow line

Hello , yes does not look good but you are unlikely ever to get a nicely tendered one
Our first half of the Allotment had weeds 5 feet plus tall , so we made a plan for the next 12 months and did a bit at a time
Then O/H did not want to use weed killer but we had to in the end
Sorry the bottom picture is upside down but you can see how much rubbish was on the other half and the top picture after clearance
only you can decide but I am sure you would get lots of moral support from the furom
best wishes
