What a fab shop Gg. The pear tree's from Aldi are a bargin, GWRS.

I didn't get to the plot at the weekend so my pear tree's are still in the back garden, must must try to get there this weekend to plant them out.

I'm not in a hurry to sow seeds this year, Ginagibbs.  All my seedlings died last year as I was in hospital but those sown in April and May soon caught up. It's going to be hard to stop myself but was thinking of waiting till at least March and if I can't wait that long I've some early peas and broad beans which can be sown this monthimage.

  • It is a good shop and great to go if needing info or advice or to buy stuff

I am waiting a bit longer with seed sowing it will be broad beans that need doing soon   -     I have decided with the trail bed I had last year that I will finish that filling in with soil then use it to grow my parsnips as it will be a good depth for them

It was a super windy weekend

Zoomer44 how are your trees? where are you putting them on the plot?

I will have to go back to the allotment sometime see if my pallet piles are still there

Must check out the other plot strange thing is I did not put my name on the waiting list must of been where I was deciding on the plots to start with - but hey will see if I want more plot or not yet

GWRS how big is your plot?

Gardengirl , hello , it is 130 X 30 feet , it is really 2 half plots and we call them plot 1 & 2

The first half has lots of small beds which includes the asaragus & rubard beds plus 5 fruit trees , now mostly edged the other half plot 2 , we have much bigger beds

I will put the pear trees on plot 2

    Hope that makes sense ?

On the site last year we had lots of people changing plots

Best of luck with whatever you decide image

  • GWRS your plot is huge had to change measurements to metres not good with feet

Decided on the other plot after another look  ............. not going to take it think I need to do a lot on the plot I have

There seemed to be a lot of rubbish dumped on it since I looked when choosing which plot out of the two,  then picked mine

The council have left a large pile of grit stones for the roads hope they sort that soon

Zoomer & team you've maybe been too busy on your plots to notice but Nora from GW has asked you start a part  2 to this thread as it has got too long. When you do she will direct peeps to the new thread..if you don't Nora will have to do it and it will carry Nora's name as OH she can't help that.
