Stagbettle , do understand , I would never have been able to have an allotment when working

Best of luck with sorting out garden at home , you can still grow veg amongst flowers , which I used to do

Sorry to hear you are giving up your plot Stagbeetle, it can be difficult to juggle everything though.

I've been able to spend more time on the plot this year due to being off work through iIl health, and been fortunate enough, to have had the time to set the plot out to make it easier to manage with narrow beds and permanent planting.

I grew veg in a couple of raised beds at home for a few years before taking up an allotment and still have a strawberry patch.

    Happy gardening image

Sorry to hear that Stagbeetle, I can understand though, I some times wonder how I manage working full time but I dont have children. Good luck in your gardenimage

I feel I have failed but just can't spread myself so thinly. i am excited to sort my garden out though and already have lots planned, just need to try and attempt to take the pallets apart for fencing.

I will go to the allotment tomorrow to collect the tools and I would like to take some of the strawberry plants for the raised beds at home and my mum would like the raspberry plants.

GWRS, gardengirl and Gina, thanks for your advice regarding the cats, most welcome, was lookping at buying some holly shrubs anyway as I do like them, didn't think of using them for the cat problem! ????

Loving your very tidy plot Caral ????

I know we've still got a while to go but I travelled home in semi light yesterday so it won't be too long before we can potter in the evening????

Stagbeetle, you haven't failed!! Just being realistic with how much you can do. I'm lucky that a.) I don't have children at home anymore and b.) my 'allotment' is actually a separate garden on the other side of my neighbours garden so I don't have far to go and can nip in and out at random, even so it is hard work keeping it up together as well as my immediate garden so I understand completely. It will be nice if you can continue to grow some produce at home and keep popping in here to let us know how you get on ????????

Stagbeetle that's a shame just a few questions when is the rent due on the plot? could you not stay there till then

Is your garden sunny location?  I grow in the garden only two beds in more sun so can't grow some things well

Are you going to dig up the fruit trees? to take them

keep on this thread like to know what you get up to

Had a good day at plot , built new gate to replace the one that was vanderlised last year

Also repaired another gate and put up shelf in shed , abit of a DIY day

Got rid of my old fire bin , so rusted I could actually fold it with my hands and put in plastic bag for the dustbin

The people on the next door plot have ordered a small poly tunnel from Amozen for  £70 , interested to see what it is like ?

Day in garden tomorrow , gone really mild again 11 degrees image

The day didn't turned out as planned.

Wet and windy here so didn't go to the plot in the morning and had planned to go to Dove Cottage in the afternoon,  which turned out to be closed due to conservastion, so went to Hayes, GC in Grasmere. The flooding has washed away the sides of the roads in some parts by the lake at Windermere, but it's fair to say it was business as usual.

If I can't get to the plot tomorow then it will be next weekend.
