too windy yesterday to do much outside so just sowed some baby sweetcorn to go in the G/H.
Talking to a lady gardener today and she says dont plant your potatoes until after Good Friday (thats what the farmers say!) any one else heard this before?
Ginagibbs I know that it is traditional to plant potatoes on Good Friday as this would be the first main bank holiday of the year - in which you can get some gardening done
may do mine that day, sometimes I have done them about this time
i already have early potatoes in at one site but not at the other yet. I have a windowsill full of chitting maincrops waiting to go in- the weather forecast is grotty for friday so mine will go in on Saturday me thinks.
Videos not started yet but I'm working on it
Chickens settling in very well, just a shame it's so blimmin windy for them, although I think I'm more worried about them than they are lol. No eggs yet but they're still s bit young. Of five, two are eating out of my hand already
Fruitcake maybe get a bit of windbreak netting for the frame so sheltered in one area, glad they are doing ok
sorting out my flower area for cut flowers finished filling with compost and digging today even though really windy so I will be planning what to go in there next
Wind has dropped today thank goodness, but its quite cold now. Hope it warms up for the weekend as I have a rare 4 days off, cant wait ! Planning to get all my chitted spuds in and do some more sowing and digging. I still have a shelving rack to assemble for the inside of the poly tunnel. I think this weekend is going to fly by.
