Scroggin, the slugs had most of my celeriac Went to the plot yesterday with Hubby to dig out a dead blackcurrant bush, I was given 4 of them by the plotters next door, the other 3 survived so am OK with that. I will plant a new fruit bush in its place, not decided yet as to what!
Ginnagibs , slugs , don't really have a problem ( having said that I will probably get a plague of them now ) and wondered if it was the shredded paths I have , that they don't seem to like crawling on them
plus the pellets in jars
Having put up fat ball and nut feeders we are getting a nice selection of little birds coming on the plot , next door have also done the same
Moved some bags of bark down the plot ready to be put down when the snow thaws. I've also been getting stones from a plot further up the allotments for a stony area by the shed. The area can get very wet after a heavy rain fall and water gathers in puddles, the stones make it less tretcherous.
I keep coming across lots of snails under plastic, stuck to compost lids and in unlikely spots, think I might go round with a bucket of salt water for them.
Zoomer your big puddles , had a problem with standing water in one garden solved it buy digging a soak away , just put old bricks , stones and lumps of concrete ect in it and it worked for me
Managed to get some slabs , so have a sitting area in front of shed , essential for tea breaks
