Roy - I bought a four shelved plastic GH about 6yrs ago for the back garden. It blew over in the first year as it wasn't anchored down. Wouldn't be without it though, it's fab as an over flow for seedlings when the GH gets full..
Was going to put the allotment one on concrete slabs and screw it down, if it's not used in winter the cover can come off and the wind will just blow through the frame.
Hope the weathers kinder this weekend, I'e some none digging jobs to do.
Just bought a book called Making the Most of Your Glorious Gluts. It shows how to store, preserve, dry and freeze your harvest and the recipe ingredients are mainly stuff which is grown on a plot.
Roy you made it with pictures - me so excited to see your plot - thank you for trying again with pics
It looks really amazing - your shed so nice and neat, I see the tea break equipment in there that is what I defo want in my shed, and I see you have a pallet table like I have here in the garden very useful
Did you have to buy the shed or was it already there?
Are you going to grow flowers and veg?
Do you have neighbours either side at the min? there plots look a lot grassy
Roy your plot looks fab, so nice and neat. Looks like you've worked hard at getting it ready. Was there anything growing on it before? Love your shed- mine which was on the plot is about 22 yrs old! Did the roof last yr have bought the paint just need to put it on!
I haven't bothered putting the weed sheets on this yr as we are prone to flooding but a tip I picked up was to put a spade of soil around the edges to prevent it flying away. It saves on trying to find bricks etc to secure it.
Welcome Mitch- did you get your keys today? It's sooooo exciting almost like when you buy your first hse!
Fruitcake- I'm looking forward to your new venture-good on you.
Going to pick up 205L metal drum via Freecycle to use on the plot tomorrow ,hopefully this will making watering a bit easier.
