Pentillie - no I've not tried Crimson Crush. Good luck with the variety thoughimage

GWRS - I can't find anything in my RHS, pest and problems book. I'm only guessing but there could be two problems, somethings clearly eating holes in the leaves and could have infected the plant with a virus. My swede have holes in the leaves and the plants aren't thriving, the swedes developed though but I'm picking them small as their leaves are going yellow too but I've seen flea beetle on them and these  beetles wouldn't effect either chard or pok choi. Why not post a thread on the main board and see what the response is image.

I invited friend and 3 children for a bar-b-cue on the plot today to pick fruit and veg. Sadly it rained, but not put off we cooked the burgers at home and the children picked strawberries/black currants in the back garden for desert before going to  the plot late afternoon. They are of an age where they can pick stuff like strawberries, currants, pea's and beans independently. They also know not to eat anything until mummy or Zoomer says they can but Lucy spotted 3 red toms in the GH and after being told they could be picked and eaten, were gone before her brothers got a look in image.

No blackberries round here yet GG we must be much colder.

Had to email council again about the weeds on my neighbours plot, he hardly ever tends it and he has a full size plot thats only half cultivated image

On a positive note, my shopping bill has gone down as am using as much home grown as possibleimageimage

Lucky you Gg, no blackberries here yet, I dug mine up on the plot, they grow over the fence now from the railway embankment. Have had a few loganberries though, they look like rasberries but have a milder taste to blackberries.

Went to the plot to water the GH this evening and picked some lettuce, pea's and first dwarf beans.

In the GH, toms are begining to go red, have loads of green chillies on just two plants. Sweet peppers/auberines are looking good. Cue's not so healthy looking but the one's I grew from seed are beginning to put on growth.
