I wonder if it's because others are giving up their plots? Apparently it happens here when rents are due for the coming year or find they can't maintain the plots for some reason.
GWRS your plot looks so tidy!! Great news GG hope you get yours very soon, you seem so keen.
Did'nt get to mine on Sunday as had a lot to do in the garden giving it a pre winter tidy up and sorting out my new work/potting bench.
Felt somewhat devastated though as we have honey fungus in our garden from a dying tree and it is spreading. Just hoping my roses and other trees are healthy enough to not get infected.
I am not sure BizzieB I know I have the garden here veg area mainly part shade cause trees in garden and some bit of garden at the train station where I volunteer at but that is all flowers
I definitely want a plot with no big trees so get lots of light
Hello all , yes there is a little patio area for coffee breaks etc
Gardengirl I do hope you get your allottment soon , we have been really pleased with ours . So peaceful today
The shed at the bottom of the picture was already there but needed a bit of TLC to make it useable , got a damp patch inside but can't see where the rains getting in at moment
still got loads growing , spinach , chard , parsnips , sprouts , kale , leeks plus bits planted for next year
Gg - sounds like you haven't long to wait for a plot
Our website has just been updated. If you google Dorrinton Road Allotments, Lancaster and go on the site, the gallery shows pics of some of the plots and if you click About Us there's an arial view of the entire site.

I have had honey fungus but it has only affected the Osier a type of Willows for some reason , Ash and roses have been fine , so you should be OK

Thank GWRS me really not looking in the right place that does make it a lot clearer
Your cold frame looks really good thanks for the picture like the lid support not thought of that
Do you have 2 sheds now? one on both plots
Is that a patio to sit out on the left
Thanks all may only be a few months waiting maybe,
Ginagibbs I am keen - how is your new potting bench
BizzieB on the site it looks as though one of the site reps has now got a few more plots added to his others about 6 or some maybe half plots
Will you go for a half plot Gardengirl?
Oh, GWRS, how lucky are you to have consecutive days of good weather
.
A grey and wet day so tackled lots of shrub pruning in the garden between windy showers. Very satisfying, feel I'm one up on the weather
