    Stagbeetle maybe the seed compost needs more air and are they a bit damp? if bigger seed you could rub over the surface to remove it rub it away 

    May I just point out that the fruit trees may be to close to each other as they can get big ish,  the last pic looks like a dogwood - cornus to me  or a tree

    You have done really well lots of digging done there, you have daffs in flower thanks for the pictures

    Definitely put some canes and string around your plot, may be a sign up saying digging in action or your newbie all advice welcome or your plot no

    Stagbettle , I also think your compost could be a bit damp 

    i sieve some ordinary compost for seeds and add a bit of verimiculia for drainage 

    I would definaetly put in some posts , string and tie on anything to show your boundary a parked car will really compact the ground

    Has anyone heard the allotment guy on radio 2? He's on usually between 1.30-2pm. I heard him for the first time last week, and he is proper brilliant image

    Have been watching The Allotment series (not the Big Challenge) on Youtube, there are about 14 episodes, its very good, got lots of tips etc.

    you mean Terry Walton he is the one from Wales, the garden news mag has a page in each week mag from him

    Got 6 more bags of horse manure and rubbed the horses nose
