Gina , agree with above a little Porch for tea and shelter , in fact the allotment plot next to mine have just built one Agree the dog does look comfortable and should not be disturbed
Allotment looks good , have been up to mine this afternoon for a couple hours , put some broad beans & pea in for over wintering , put cloches over them and weeded a couple of onion beds
somedody put a notice on hear about keeping Chickens , our Association is going to make it a condition that they have " rat proof " feeders , as they are an ongoing problem , a local farmer gets us commercial rat poison but it cost £50 a tub , therefore , I would recommend one
Went to Wickes today got the incinerator bin for 19.99 gone up a little now from when you got it Ginagibbs so that will be ready when the feet get put on for bonfire night
GWRS did you have a pic of your cold frame? I got a bit of wood for my lid today just need to figure out how to build it
Love the porch idea guys. I have used my incinerator a couple of times already, they are really good and you can just tip the ashes onto the soil and dig it in.
I was in Wickes today, picking up a lawn rake to gather up three large bags of leaves!
I haven't thought about bonfires yet
about a month ago I planted some garlic cloves that I'd bought in a garden centre. Not one of them have germinated. Every single one of the onions I did at the same time has, so need to get more garlic going.
I had to pull up my potatoes at the weekend because of blight, so I'm going to put my broad beans in that bed. We are going to put some on both plots to see which, if any of them, do better. Same with the onions.
I picked up a couple of cold frames in the argos sale a few months ago. I'll be glad when I can put them to use
Hi Fruitcake, sorry to hear about your garlic. I planted my garlic and onions about 3 weeks ago and they are romping away, we have had an unusual amount of warm weather though. Never had success with them at home as my garden is too shady, unlike my plot which is full sun all day. I have put them in the top area which is has the best drainage. Got broad beans in the green house so will put them in soon. Need to spend a few hours putting my grow house frame back together as it blew over in the strong winds. I got some plumbers tape to bind the joints, so I hope it will stay in one piece a bit longer
Gardengirl , sorry forgot to take picture of cold frame , will put it on my allottment todo list but off on holiday on Thursday for 10 days
Garlic the first time I grew it , I planted the whole bulb with splitting it first , surprisingly it didn't do that well ! I now always read the instructions
Beautiful sunny day in Lincolnshire
started a new thread about poly tunnels , we are are a loud them on our site as long as it is not to big , something to think about for next year

Fruitcake we must of both been thinking I need to go to Wickes - I saw the leaf rake on my way in the store
Our wicks moved round the corner to a different store so first time I have been there, got some good bits there
How many1/2 plots people got now me getting confused?
I've got two half plots. on different sites just to confuse me lol
GWRS quick go get a pic of the cold frame
Thanks fruitcake
GWRS I was thinking of getting a poly tunnel to replace my grow house in the future
(I wont have room for both) Have you seen any bargain ones?
Garden Girl mine is a half plot (and it feels too small already!)
