Had our Allottment AGM this morning in the car park , blooming cold ! It is also when we pay our rent which goes to the land owner a local farmer

Finally did some work , dug the remainder of sparsnips , sprouts , a few leeks and kale

now sitting in front of a roaring fire , warming up nicely image

WOW Fruitcake - the Ritz for chucksimage

No allotmenteering today. Checked the seedlings in the back bedroom, brussels going leggyimage, toms looking good and three aubergine plants are peeping through in their peat potsimage. No sign of any chillies yet.

Three empty spaces in the propogator. I'm going to sow sweet peppers again - long yellow ringo-the plants grow to 5ft, so hoping the peppers will be nice big one's. Also sowing golden sunrise toms and reliable money maker.

    Happy sowing everyone.

GWRS what was said at your AGM ? is that another year on the allotment paid for you

Fruitcake your house looks really nice and there run, when you get the chickens in they should be nice and safe from any foxes, it looks really well constructed

Gardengirl , yes rent paid for another year . AGM , leaving gate open and unlocked still a problem , paying allottment fee now compulsary £5 per plot in the past it was voluntary but funds are low and needed to cover costs , the rent goes to the land owner , new secretary and treasurer elected and a thank you to everybody that helped with a Autumn tidy up of the boundary hedges and repairs to the roads

Fruitcakes chicken run looks impressive image

Lucky Chooks Fuitcake.image Only had a flying visit to Allotment yesterday as I  desperately needed to finish tidying our flower borders at home and do a bit of planting/moving plants etc. Glad to see the rhubarb growing at the plot as my rhubarb plant at home has been decimated by honey fungus.image Sowed some salad at home too as its shadier and I can grab some when I need it. Broad beans are coming along now,  will sow some peas in guttering tonight ready to go out in April. Cant wait till Easter, hoping the weather will be warm enough to plant something! Happy gardening everyoneimage
