I am doing planting by the moon (trying ) you were not meant to do any gardening yesterday after 2.30pm as in planting - leaf day today and tomorrow sow things like lettuce then fruit day 22-23rd-24 sow things like broad beans me going to sow more
Stagbeetle - I've nothing planted on the plot this year. It's still to early here in the NW. Planted some garlic in October and I've perienniel planting which has nearly filled plot 3A with fruit bushes, tree's, strawberries and other stuff. The grand plan after this is still in being formulated
Plot 3B at the top is going to be the annual veg area but it's in need of attention with only one bed 4ft wide dug over the length but I've made a pallet compost area and rough dug oneside as a start.
I'm in the GWRS camp with sowing seeds on the plot as I've always sown in modules, so it'll be a first to sow straight in the ground.
It's looking very likely that we will be bringing the chickens home on Friday *excited dance* we have a few fiddly little things to do beforehand and then it's all go
Good news Fruitcake, how many chooks are you getting and which type?
Ive taken my toms out of the propogator but they do look quite leggy with just the 2 leaves at the top, does this sound normal? Have just got them on the windowsill now.
more work planned on the paths tomorrow, will post pics soon.
My pumpkins have started to grow and the rudbeckia, sunflowers and toms. Planted more pumpkins, nasturtium, mire sunflowers and sweet peas and peppers.
Today I've been at both plots- more wire at chicken plot and long overdue planting of autumn raspberries at the other.
Typically, after spending so much time complaining about the amount of rain we have had, a few days without and the ground has dried up like a river bed
Fruitcake will you put pictures of choo on site ? Are you going to name them ?
Anybody on allottment site have bee hives ?
not been able to get to A so getting a bit behind but with weather being so cold not to worried , although a glouruious sunny day in Lincolnshire today , been to the seaside at Skegness
Stagbettle have you thought about " green manure" would that count as cultivation ?I am sure as long as you are working the plot and keeping it tidy you would be OK

Fruitcake that is really weird about your plot numbers
It's confusing sometimes so we have to refer to them as A and B and still get them mixed up lol
