Good morning Debs. Now it is lighter I can see that it is dry here as well and the breeze has actually dried up all of last night's rain puddles. I'm just wondering whether it is worth risking putting on Lily's TV
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Morning all. No damage here either but a noisy night. Still very windy here but not as bad as it was. Have to get to the chemist this afternoon so hope the wind has died down a bit by then.ย
Morning all. The noise of the wind last night was incredible but all is quiet this morning and we have electricity which is a bit of a surprise. Must ring MIL soon to make sure all us ok with her.
Feeling sorry for anyone trying to get anywhere last night - suspect there are many, many people waking up in places they didn't expect to be and hundreds of people working hard through the night trying put things right.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Good morning Ruby - you sneaked in there - and Hazel. I can see across the road from me that two large fence panels have been blown down. A few pots tipped over in my garden otherwise not too bad.

Have spoken to mum this morning and one of the carers there. They have fared okay in the storm, no power loss and no damage anywhere and everyone on good spirits so that is a relief. LB, those damaged fence panels reminds me of the last ( bad) storm Arwen ( here) when we lost a fence panel and also the arbor plus plants. The aftermath was a bit chaotic to say the least. Did Cricket go mad when the winds started near you? Our cats always used to start going mad, flying around the place whenever there a storm/ high winds brewing.ย The sun is shining here now but the wind has started to get worse again....as forecast...it's going to be coming and going for a few days yet.
Good afternoon, Well, it got quite wild through the night, but my pots and dustbin remained standing where I had placed them. I donโt think we were affected as severely as some. Itโs blustery now, but quite bright. Iโve put lilys tv on, but wonโt risk pegging anything outside - it could end up anywhere ๐. Iโve got a heated thingy that I use if the weather is inclement. Its supposed to become stormy again tomorrow into Wednesday, but ๐คthat doesnโt happen.
Good afternoon all. It has been very blustery here but actually quite pleasant. I've reset the pots that had been tossed over and like you @Red maple, I decided to risk putting a load in Lily's TV. Guess what? Does this look familiar to you?
Other Lily's TVs are available! I have pegged all the wet cloth things out on the string though and fingers crossed the stiff breeze will work its magic.
Hazel, I do have to say that Cricket is constantly loopy so I wouldn't notice any difference in windy weather. To be honest we cannot hear the wind in the house - I think we are lucky.

I meant to say T'Bird. I hope this wild weather goes well away before you are due to go on your Berlin break. I do have to say that I am looking forward to the first episode of Travels with T'Bird this year!

Popped out to chemist and had a quick look round a shop where I get my wool from. Replenished my stocks and OH bought some more crafty items. Town was very quiet and there was no usual Monday market. In ย places, the wind took our breathe away so we didn't loiter and got home. LB, ah , ย that's a familiar sight, nice. He looks quite engrossed. Maybe he's wondering if he could catch something in there moving about. When we got home, we saw a car crouching down on top of the fence, looking at the birds foraging about in the soil. He soon scarpered when he heard us. Red Maple, I did ย exactly the same yesterday but nothing dried. The smell of fresh air was nice though.ย
