We went to church. Coffee and a delicious slice of carrot cake afterwards so we were able to catch up with friends' news. Then I went for a chat with the elderly lady next door, the one who kept having falls early last year. She hasn't fallen for a while now.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good afternoon everyone. First of all can I just say how very sorry I was to read of your friend @Biglad. You are so right in that sad occasions like this only reinforce our awareness of our own mortality. This is why we have to seize the day and make each moment special.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Busy, I did laugh at your comment about your OH. At least you don't have to house train him. Its super that you have managed to find a decorator too.
Ante, you are so right! The house was very empty with my darling Lily gone and this big boy is like having 5 in the house!
Ruby, it has rained pretty much all day here and the winds keep coming and going and we have an amber weather warning for Storm Isha from 18:00 this afternoon. Could be another night lying in bed listening to the roof tiles rattling! Scary!

Afternoon all. Quick run to SM this morning and then an hour in the garden cutting back the Group 3 clematis. They form such huge birds' nests that it's a quick and easy win for filling the garden ready for collection tomorrow.
Think I'm first one out with the bins today so i've grabbed the prime spot which is most sheltered from the wind. The breeze is definitely picking up now and neither bin is particularly heavy this week so they might yet end up down the road!
Biglad - I was sorry to read about your friend. I hope the rest of you are able to get together to remember your pal and celebrate his life.Β
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I've been out a few times (on recycling and compost bin filling duties) and the weather is building up. Loads of surface water in the garden already and the wind is getting up Β
Gee thanks T'Bird, you have given me another job to go on the 'to do' list . I hope that your bins do stay upright and don't trundle off to pastures new.
Similar here Biglad - well apart from the 'been out' bit!

Good morning everyone - especially Ante on his favourite day of the week!
It wasn't too bad last night round where I am though the street lights were moving quite alarmingly in the wind. I guess that they must have some flexibility built into their design. When it gets lighter I shall be able to check outside to see if there have been any pots scattered around. I hope all of you are safe and sound.

Good morning all. Wet and windy night here but I do admit I love windy weather I find it exhilarating to be out during a storm and itβs so cosy lying in bed listening to the wind howl and the rain lashing at the window. I would probably be less keen if I lived in more exposed places.Β
No damage here that I can see and itβs dry this morning. Off to work in a bit these weekends go by too quickly.Β
